The new bridge is indeed convenient for all the people of kemmannu. The old bridge also did well for the people who used it then.

Thank God that the collapse of the bridge did not cause casualties. I wish the authorities could look
into this as we all kemmanites would love our place to look beautiful and safe to live in.

It is better if they construct Dam near Upoor bridge to facilitate ground water level raise in the area of Ambagilu, santhakatte, Nittoor/Puthur, and upoor thenkabettu area.

Just to add one point, most of us converts by Goan missionaries retaining Spanish and Portuguese names and surnames, a major portion migrated from Konkan region. As the author rightly mentioned, there were native and original Christians, who might not known as per religion but worshipped one God and Christ the Savior. Even today there are people in our areas, worshipping Jesus, Mother Mary etc, though they are not Catholics. This is because, for centuries their ancestors were lived like that.

Syrian church very much new to our area, having history of 125 years, out of it early 50 years not influenced. In these years , as the learned author written, I also feel with no option the community voluntarily or reluctantly adhere Kerala Syrian rituals but keeping in place their pure Kallianpur Konkani life in their own homes.

Presumably the article thrown light on many serious observations and thanking Mr A Fudthado, join him to echo for unity and understanding within us. Thank you Kemmannu website for publication of insightful essays of social relevance and interesting.
