What is wrong with an entire island bought by one person? At least he won’t have neighbors robbing his fruit and vegetation when he is not in town. He need not ask for permission from his neighbors for road access. He need not bother about neighbors asking him when he came and when he is going to go back. No one will ask him if he has come alone or with&########. His bikhari neighbors need not come running after his car with crowbars if he does not give money. Future Scenario for agriculture – Multinational Companies taking over the majority of the agricultural land – using mechanized farming methods and genetically modified seeds gaining monopoly with patents, reducing manpower into insignificance – with hyper stores monopolizing the markets, making the Kirana stores irrelevant - result Rice price Rs. 100.
Coconut trees once called “Kalpa wriksha” is considered as a “Rakshasa” with mindless felling to make way for buildings. No new saplings are planted and many more are left to die with no watering and manureing. For sentimental reasons farmers do not pick tender coconuts which cost Rs. 25 at present (Ghendali variety Rs. 30) and sell ripe coconuts for Rs. 3. Malnad farmers plant arecanut trees in place of coconut trees – Result Rs. 50 for bonda in the very near future.

What I mean to say ia at an alarming rate kemmanites are selling agricultural properties.
i.e, already 4 of our beautiful islands been sold to unknown rich people.
They may do something good to society I will never deny it.
At present the agricultural products are not finding proper price, in the mean while ther is a high price for a piece of land. So, people are selling the land today. In future surely situation will reverse that time we may not have proper land to do the agriculture . This was the point I wanted to write and conclude.

Enjoy, wake up at 8am, go to sea-side for defecation; take two hours to bathe, have lunch at 1 pm; take siesta for two hours, take tea at 4:30pm; feed the cow, if it’s not dead, check whether the neighbours said prayers, eat dinner after yelling; and at this rate you will sell your land to those who work hard...........

The day is not far away when we the "moolanivasis" (natives) of kemman. I mean we will loose all our land in the hands of outsiders and the big companies. Every one is running away from the villages in search of job and fascilities.
One fine morning we will have to pay a big sum to enter in to our village ( i mean we have to pay a fixed sum already to go to a river island)..... mind it.
