Udupi, Mar 18: People across Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha Constituency lined up in the voting booths to cast their vote and elect their next MP.

As per the election officials 30% of the voters has already cast their votes in the first two hours of voting which started at 8.00. Long queues very visible at al most all the booths around the district. District SP Boralingayya said that the Police department has taken all the necessary steps for peaceful polling in the constituency.

Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes and his wife Blossom cast their votes at Ambalpady.

ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭಾಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಶಾ೦ತಿಯುತ ಮತದಾನವು ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎ೦ದು ಚುನಾವಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮತಗಟ್ಟೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿ.ಜೆ.ಪಿ-ಕಾ೦ಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಮತದಾರರ ಮನವನ್ನು ಓಲೈಸುವ ಕೆಲಸವ೦ತೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಬೂತಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕ೦ಡುಬ೦ದಿದೆ. ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಮತವನ್ನು ಯಾಚಿಸಲು ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದ೦ತಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೆಲವೇ ಕೆಲವೆಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಜೆಡಿಎಸ್ ಬೂತಗಳು ಕ೦ಡು ಬ೦ದಿದೆ.

ಚುನಾವಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿಯವರ ವರದಿಯ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಮು೦ಜಾನೆ 8ರಿ೦ದ10ರವರೆಗೆ 30%ದಷ್ಟುಮತದಾನವಾಗಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವರದಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಮತದಾನವು ಶಾ೦ತಿಯುತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಬ೦ದೋಬಸ್ತ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎ೦ದು ಉಡುಪಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಎಸ್ಪಿ ಬೋರಲಿ೦ಗಯ್ಯ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
