Print Udupi, March 28: In an unusual development last evening at 6.00 pm the people of Hebri, Karkala taluk of Udupi District witnessed yellow rain, unbelieving themselves ran for cover with fear.
According to reports received by Mr. Richard Crasto of www. Kemmannu.com , people reportedly experienced rain with amber colour and the water droplets which were falling from sky were emitting foul smell .
The yellow saturation painted roads trees houses and even people’s hair and their outfits made them to remember the recent Japan nightmare which is still capturing the main spots in the media all over the world.
Such phenomenal occurrence could be a result of Pollen caused ’yellow rain’. According to some environmental experts large amounts of air-borne pollen were drifted and can be soaked with moisture lowering with rain.
It is unclear about the causes of this yellow rain, people around Hebri started hearing different stories; some say they never see something like this before, some say this is due to environmental pollution, some say this is due to deforestation. According to Mr. Umesh Bangera an elderly person from Kukkikatte , whatever the reasons it’s true that science or humans had no idea of these happenings and they will not have any control over such developments in the future too.

Pollen caused ’yellow rain’: agency
The "yellow rain" seen Wednesday in the Kanto region surrounding Tokyo was caused by pollen, not radioactive materials as many residents feared, the Meteorological Agency said Thursday.
The agency received more than 200 inquiries Thursday morning about yellowish residue left on roofs and elsewhere by the rain, stirring concerns that radioactive substances had fallen in the wake of explosions at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, around 220 km northeast of central Tokyo.
According to the Environment Ministry, large amounts of air-borne pollen were seen in the Kanto region and the pollen fell with the rain Wednesday.
