Christians attacked in Delhi, the Capital of India
In an apparently pre-planned incident, an angry mob of about 150 people primarily Hindutvawadis attacked a Christian worship meeting and beat up Christians including children and women on April 9 in Bhajanpura, on the East of New Delhi. According to information The Assembly of God Church organized an open air worship meeting entitled ’Festival of Deliverance’ with pastor Solomon King as the speaker. "There were about 150 people in the arena when I arrived at 5:30 p .m. with 40 choir members" reported Pastor Solomon King. These people turned out to be the Hindu extremists only and it is obvious that they have carefully planned out the attacks, he added. The meeting started at 6 p.m. with one song when suddenly some people in the meeting started shouting slogans ’Jai Shri Ram’ ’Jai Bagrang Dal’ beat up the Christians including children, women with sticks and big stones.
Two Christians identified only as Prabhu and Abhisek sustained head injuries and received hospital treatment. Pastor Solomon King, his wife and other Christians also received bruises all over their bodies. The extremists also destroyed church furniture, sound system, generator and some Christians’ vehicles. Prior to the meeting, the Christians took permission from the government officials to conduct the worship meeting and five constables were on duty to give the Christians protection. Sadly the five constables were also badly beaten up by the extremists. Speaking on the incident, Advocacy Director of EFI, Mrs. Tehmina Arora said "An attack like this in the capital of the country is an example of the how emboldened these miscreant groups feel. The police’s swift and appropriate action alone will ensure such acts are not repeated in the future." The attack lasted for about an hour and the extremists dispersed in fear when dozens policemen arrived on the spot.
Three Christians arrested in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh
Madhya Pradesh police arrested three Christians after the Hindu extremists disrupted their prayer meeting and accused them of forceful conversion on April 7 in Sagar district. The incident took place at about 7:30 p.m when an angry mob of Hindutvawadis barged into the prayer meeting of Christian Assembly Church shouting anti-Christian slogans and filed a police complaint against the Christians of forceful conversion. The police arrived at the spot and took Pastor Philip, his son Jason Philip and a new Christian convert Sita Ram to the station for questioning. The believers were detained in the police station for the whole night. The next day, the Christians were produced before the magistrate and they were charged under Sections 151 & 109 of the Indian Penal Code. Thereafter, they were sent to the central jail. After the intervention of the area Christian leaders, the Christians were released on bail after 2 days.

Karnataka Police on April 1 arrested five Christians after Hindutvawadis registered false complaints of "conversion" against them in Kodihalli, Bangalore. Christians identified only as Vincent, Johnson, Satyan and Naveenand Vinod were at a prayer and fellowship meeting in the home of one believer when area Hindu extremists led by a person identified only Prashanth stormed the house, accused them of forceful conversion and forced them to the Kodihalli police station. The angry Hindutvawadis shouted anti-Christian rants along the way, and that police were mute spectators as the extremists mocked the Christians at the police station. Police charged the Christians with “deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religions. The Christians were released on bail after 2 days.
