Suburban MLA meets MC regarding Juhu Beach.

 Mun. Commissioner orders Clean-Up.Vile Parle MLA Krishna Hegde met the Municipal Commissioner Shri Subodh Kumar this afternoon and informed him that the Juhu Beach has tons of garbage lying uncleared. He even showed him the photographs.

Juhu Beach is a tourist destination where MS Wisdom had been stranded some while ago. 

Hegde said though the Juhu Beach is not in his Constituency he has raised this issue as the Beach is frequented by lakhs of people including daily walkers and tons of plastic bags were also damaging the environment.“The Municipal Commissioner was proactive and at once called up the concerned officials and asked them to take up the Clean-Up drive immediately and report to him” said Hegde. 

Smt. Priya Dutt (MP) and MLA Krishna Hegde have been cleaning up the Juhu Beach after the Ganapati Visarjan’s for the past 6 years.

 MLA urges State to have dedicated Help line nos. for Emergency Services

MLA Krishna Hegde wrote to Hon’ble CM Shri Prithviraj Chavan ji to change the Policy wherein Ambulances from MLA funds have to be handed over only to Government Hospitals for use.He instead suggested that Ambulance’s purchased out of MLA funds should be also allowed to be handed over to Private Hospitals as well as maintenance is better and action is quicker in times of Emergencies.

 He has also suggested that a dedicated tel number for a Help line should be made available and it should connect all Emergency units like Hospitals, Data of Ambulance’s, Police Stations, Fire Brigade offices, etc. “These nos. should also be put up on a specially formed Website to enable ordinary Citizens to access the same urgently” he said.

Hegde also met Municipal Commissioner Shri Subodh Kumar this afternoon and spoke to him about the implementation of the Help line along with the Disaster Management Cell of MCGM. Mr. Subodh Kumar mentioned that Number 108 and 1916 are allotted for this purpose.

 “However this MCGM Help line should be widely publicized” Hegde said.

 Hegde has also raised in the State Assembly the issue of having First Aid Centers at various points along the National and State Highways of Maharashtra.

“It should be mandatory for Food Plazas and Important Toll Nakas to have a First Aid Center as this can save lot of lives of accident victims” he added.

Hegde has also written to the Hon’ble CM on the same.
