Pune, Sep 23 : Pakistani actress Veena Malik has expressed her desire of having a hero like veteran social activist Anna Hazare in her country, whom the people can follow in the fight against rampant corruption.

Malik was shooting for her debut Bollywood flick ’Daal Me Kuch Kala Hai’, here on Thursday.

Responding to a question on the recent meeting between a Pakistani delegation and Hazare, Malik said: "Like I said before, I wish even we had a person like Anna Hazare in Pakistan. This is the reason that people, who were a part of that delegation, must have thought that if Anna Hazare stands for their cause, then it would be good for them. Because corruption is prevailing in Pakistan and the situation of the country is worse and we need a hero, whom we can follow."

"If Anna Hazare initiates the campaign or the cause that he would uproot corruption in Asia or in some countries, then nothing can be better than this," she added.

A team from Pakistan, represented by retired jurists, peace activists and leaders recently met 74-year-old Hazare and sought his cooperation in fighting corruption back home.

During the meeting, members of the delegation urged Hazare to visit their country to help them combat social maladies through peaceful protests.

Hazare, whose nearly two-week campaign against graft sparked off the biggest anti-government protests made him a national hero. He is viewed as a source of inspiration by many in strife-ridden Pakistan, claim certain activists.

Talking about her upcoming movie, which also stars Bollywood actors Jackie Shroff and Shakti Kapoor, Veena Malik, who became a household name in India following her stint on the fourth season of reality TV show Bigg Boss, said it was a tough job for her to play two different roles at the same time, but she found it exciting.

"Daal Me Kuch Kala Hai is my debut movie and I am playing a double role in it. Both characters are opposite to each other and it is a very challenging role because both the characters are completely opposite and it should be like this, then only you are able to do justice to your role," said Malik.

"It was very challenging for me to play such a role in my first movie, but my life is all about challenges. So, I found it very exciting and I thought that I cannot get a better debut movie than this one. So, I went for it," she added.

The movie, directed by Anand Balraj and produced by Deepak Bali, is slated to release in December.
