The 13th Annual Freedom Network Anti-Trafficking Conference was organized on April 21-22, 2015 at Washington D.C.  Harold D’Souza was invited to share his ’Journey of Freedom’ in the United States of America on the opening day of the conference attended by over 300 delegates.

Freedom Network USA is a national alliance of experienced advocates working with survivors of all forms of human trafficking to ensure that trafficked persons have access to justice, safety, and opportunity.
 
Harold spoke at the conference : " For any common man to Survive in the United Sates of America you need four things : State I.D., Social Security Card, Work Permit and Freedom".
 
TVPA (Trafficking Victims ProtectionAct) : Past, Present and Future Elevating the Human in Human Trafficking was attended by service providers, innovative leaders in government, experienced law enforcement, organizers, members of faith-based community, and other experts to move forward in their work to empower trafficked persons.

Harold D’Souza is a survivor of labor trafficking and debt bondage in the United States of America. After 133 months of a tough and rough journey, D’Souza and his family found “Glorious Freedom.” He was one of the survivors invited to attend a Human Trafficking Survivor Forum and Listening Session in Washington D.C. on January 14, 2014. D’Souza launched his public advocacy at the forum organized by the Office for Victims of Crime Technical and Training Session (OVCTTAC).
 
D’Souza has spoken to many community members about his experience in order to increase awareness and make it easier for victims of human trafficking to get help. D’Souza and his wife, who is also a survivor, were speakers at the Greater Cincinnati Human Trafficking Conference 2015 advocating for creating awareness about human trafficking in the community.

D’Souza is collaborating with End Slavery Cincinnati to include Awareness of Signs of Human Trafficking into mainstream curriculum at the University level and to educate Law Enforcement agents to identify human trafficking as part of their training. Harold and Dancy are members of the National Survivors Network (NSN).

Freedom Network strives to :

Ensure that trafficked persons are treated as victims and not criminals, are able to have full access to justice, including the right to full compensation and restitution from the traffickers, and are provided with access to linguistically-appropriate and culturally-sensitive, victim-centered social, mental health, medical, legal, educational, vocational and other services.

Increase public awareness of the crime of trafficking through education, research, training and community outreach and organizing for the purpose of preventing trafficking and supporting the rights of trafficked persons.

Engage in advocacy at the local, national and international levels on behalf of trafficked persons and for full prosecution of all traffickers, including corporations and their subcontractors.

Develop local and national networks in the United States and to link with international networks in order to carry out these above activities.

Harold and Dancy D’Souza  hail from Bajpe, Mangalore and are blessed with two amazing boys Bradly 19 and Rohan 16. The D’Souza family now reside at Cincinnati, Ohio, in America.
