Mumbai, JULY02: Billavara association, Mumbai held their 83rd annual general body meeting at Billavara Bhavan, Santacruz east on Sunday June 28. Association honorary president Jaya C Suvarna lit the traditional lamp and set the meeting in motion. Nithyananda Kotian presided over the meeting and addressed the huge gathering.

Jaya Suvarna, speaking on the occasion said that he is glad that the association and Bharath Bank have progressed together ever since he set foot in them. “The board of directors and senior officials in the bank have made it possible. The association too should proceed according to the teachings of Narayana guru and I am confident that it will progress under the leadership of young leaders,” he said.

Chief secretary Dr U Dhananjay Kumar welcomed and read the annual report. Joint secretary Dhananjay S Kotian led the prayer and read the minutes of the last annual general body meeting. As per the regulations of the association, thirty new members were elected for the period 2015-18.

Rohini J Salian, CA Ashwajith Hejmady, Navin Suvarna, Suresh Suvarna, Bharath Bank managing director C R Mulki, Umesh Karkera, film actor and producer Rajashekar Kotian, advocate Mahesh Kotian and Naina Mahesh and their spouses were felicitated with flower bouquets on the occasion.

Association president Chandrashekar S Poojary, C T Salian, Jyothi K Suvarna, Bhaskar M Salian, chief treasurer Bhaskar V Bangera, joint secretary Shanker D Poojary, Mahesh Karkala, joint treasurer L R Anchan, Rajesh J Bangera, Sadashiva A Karkera, women’s wing executive president Shakuntala K Kotian and Sevadal leader Ganesh K Poojary, former president L V Ameen, Bharath bank executive president Vasudeva R Kotian, school committee executive president B Ravindra Ameen, social and religious committee executive president Mohan G Poojary, Yuvabhyudaya committee executive president Premanath P Kotian, Shubha Mangala committee executive president Babu S Kukyan, cultural sub committee honorary secretary Dharmapal G Anchan, other backward class sub committee honorary secretary M Ananda Poojary, Billava legal committee’s advocate Rohini J Salian and other office bearers were present on the dais.

Joint secretary Harish G Salian introduced the honored members and proposed the vote of thanks at the end. The meeting concluded after the national anthem.
