Bahubali fever continues - GAFX Conference 2017 all set to enthrall Bengaluru beginning May 12

Bengaluru, 12th May, 2017: Bengaluru, 10th May, 2017: Come Friday, Bengaluru will witness a magical event of the world of animation, games & visual effects; be it Making of visual effects blockbusters like Baahubali, Fast & Furious 8, Jungle Book, Pulimurugun, Shivaay, Doctor Strange, or animation feature films like Moana, Finding Dory, The Good Dinosaur or VR 360 films like Dear Angelica or panel on Success Stories in Karnataka GAFX Industry by top speakers from all over the world.
The Department of IT, BT of Government of Karnataka in association with the industry body ABAI is all set to inaugurate the Bengaluru GAFX Conference 2017 at Hotel Lalit Ashok from May 12, 2017.

While the three-day event, May 12 to 14, will offer a world-class experience to the aspiring youth who want to make career in the animation industry; professionals from this sector will get a great opportunity to up-skill and gain knowledge on the latest and greatest in the industry. For the thousands of movie buffs, the conference will be an exciting experience to know how their favourite movies such as Baahubali, Fate of The Furious are made so riveting using visual effects.

They will also enjoy screenings of Oscar nominated movies such as Kubo and the Two Strings, Ma Vie De Courgette (My life as a Zucchini) and The Red Turtle. They will also be treated to the spectacle of top animation short films from all over the world in terms of screening of Best of Annecy Film Festival and SIGGRAPH Computer Animation Festival. GAFX 2017 will see stalwarts such as David James, Sharon Calahan, Wesley Allsbrook, Dr. Golam Ashraf, Alejandro Garcia, Anand Baid many others talk about topics as varied as story, physics of of animation, cinematography, production design, previz, high end character creation, 3D character animation, game engine etc.

Leaders from top global studios and production houses such as Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, DreamWorks Animation, Double Negative, The Third Floor, MPC, Ubisoft will be speaking at the event about projects across all formats including virtual reality and 360 films. Leaders from studios across India will be in attendance and all top employers will be present at the Job Fair that is part of the event.

State IT, BT and Tourism Minister, Shri Priyank Kharge, said: “We are delighted to host the world-class event on animation, visual effects and gaming in Bengaluru for the first time and bring together stalwarts such as David James, Sharon Calahan, Joseph Gilland, Pete Draper and many more. This will offer a great platform for the aspiring youth to make a career in the animation industry and provide learning opportunities for the professionals at the same time.”
