Public, BJP Attacks Minister Ramanath Rai for Forcing SP to Arrest Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat
Mangaluru: Karnataka State Minister for Forest, Environment and Dakshina Kannada District Incharge Minister B Ramanath Rai is facing huge criticism from the public and BJP leaders after he forced Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Bhushan Gulabrao Borase to arrest RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat and file a criminal case against him under section 307 if he speaks in the public. The minister forced the police officer in a video following recent communal violence in Kalladka to give a communal colour to the clashes, sources said.
In a viral video uploaded, the minister forced the SP to arrest Bhat as he is aged and can’t harm any one if he is arrested by the police for speaking in the public. According to the reports, the video has been uploaded by the congress workers to attract the members of a certain community who believed that the forest minister supports Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat in the recent communal clashes in kalladka of Bantwal.
Udupi Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha MP Shobha Karandlaje and Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel criticised the minister for forcing the police department to arrest Bhat even if he is an innocent in the Kalladka clashes. The MPs demanded resignation of the minister immediately for his provocative statements which could disturb peace in Dakshina Kannada.
Speaking on the issue, Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat said that, the minister shows his culture and his behavior is an insult to entire Tulu Nadu. Forcing a honest police officer to file a criminal case against an innocent is condemnable. In the video released, the minister tried to get the support of minorities in Dakshina Kannda district to face upcoming state assembly elections, Bhat added.
