XL Catlin in India holds Global Day of Giving

Bangalore, India, 1 September – XL Catlin’s colleagues based in Gurgaon and Bangalore will today participate in the re/insurer’s Global Day of Giving.

The Global Day of Giving is a company-wide employee volunteer day dedicated to supporting the communities in which XL Catlin operates. Since its inception in 2006, XL Catlin colleagues have performed close to 250,000 hours of community service through hundreds of charitable projects in various locations worldwide.

Mike McGavick, XL Catlin’s Chief Executive Officer said, “The Global Day of Giving is a very special event on XL Catlin’s calendar. To us it’s more than simply spending a day volunteering. It’s about investing our time, talent and skills to show our non-profit neighbours, who work tirelessly to improve the communities around us, that we truly appreciate all that they do.”

Derek Nazareth, Head of Global Operations and Country Head of XL Catlin in India said, “This year I will be out participating in projects with the Earth Saviours Foundation, supporting disabled people with their daily activities, spending time with elderly members of our community, and preparing food for those in need. That’s what I think is so fantastic about our day – it goes beyond a financial donation with people getting out into the community to offer their time and energy –our donation is about more than money.”

During today’s event, over 1000 colleagues will be participating in more than 40 charitable projects including: delivering educational activities to socially disadvantaged children, socialising with isolated senior citizens, planting trees, and cleaning community spaces.

Inter Class Commerce Fest- Capitaux 2017 at Mount Carmel PU College, Bangalore

Bangalore 1st September: Mount Carmel PU College, Bangalore is hosted Inter Class Commerce Fest- Capitaux 2017. With regard to this 10 events relating to commerce are conducted over a week and hosting the Valedictory Program on 30th, August 2017 at 9:00 am and Vaishnavi as the chief guest from the Kannada Film Industry

Inter Class Commerce Fest- Capitaux 2017  initiative by MCC will engage  the students through various platforms in commerce and  Understanding the need of the youth to communicate effectively and stay updated,

The events conducted are:

1. Editor’s Corner- Commerce Newsletter a great way to communicate ideas and updated on what is new and interesting related to commerce activities is presented in the form of a newsletter.

2. Channel Surfing- Creating a web page- what would be better than an event based on social media. The basic theme of this event is to come up with a new product and with a tag line and endorse the brand is social media.

3. Corporate Roadies- Corporate personalities with controversial background is given to the contestant for role play and are asked to convince the financiers and jury to bail them out and rectify their misdoings.

4. JAM- Just A Minute- The objective of this event is to enhance the common skills. The participants should talk for 60 seconds without hesitation, repetition of words or deviation.

5. Compendium- Participants cover all the events of capitaux and make a video with approximately of 300 photos.

6. I- EXPO- Business Pot Purri and letting the participants to present their skills by presenting the Business Models.

7. Market Mayhem- Brings out the marketing skills of the students for branding and packing of a product which is usually does not require packing.

8. ADZAP- Bring out the Advertisement skills of students and letting them work and shoot an advertisement with a radio jingle.

9. Corporate Sparks- A recruitment process carried out for letting the students experience the initial stage for getting recruited into a Company.

10. Sudoku- A multi sudoku test the mental capability of a student in solving the number game.

LLADRÓ BRINGS LORD GANESHA TO LIFE WITH SPANISH ARTIST, ROSA BELENGUER

The brand’s expert artist will instil life in limited edition sculpture at live painting demonstration event

Bengaluru 1st September 2017 : Lladró, the world famous Spanish brand known for its high quality porcelain products, has introduced its meticulously crafted Lord Ganesha sculpture for the first time in India. The limited edition collection came to life at a live painting event demonstrated by Lladró’s expert artist, Rosa Belenguer at  UB City Store.

In front of the live audience, Rosa instilled life in the exquisite Lord Ganesha sculpture through a mixture of colours and meticulous artisanship. She gave life to the Lord Ganesha sculpture by decorating it with those particular colours, which are distinctive, traditional symbols of the millenary Hindu philosophy. At the end of demonstration, she finely captured Ganesha’s attributes with infinite details and meticulousness.

Speaking about her experience, Rosa Belenguer said, “The process of instilling life into porcelain sculptures through paint and decoration is beyond doubt the most rewarding task. Perfection can only be achieved through experience, which provides an artist with the confidence to know how to mix glazes and colours, and how to apply them with the necessary precision.”

This was Rosa’s first demonstration tour in India. She has been to Singapore, Japan and some European countries for live painting events this year. The India event witnessed the presence of Lladró collectors and loyal customers admiring the brand’s dedication of bringing premiumness in its each piece of art.

Speaking about the event and new collection, Nikhil Lamba, CEO, Lladró India said, “Lladró pieces are skilfully decorated to bring an artistic value of a lifetime. The new Lord Ganesha sculpture is a perfect mix of colours, adoration and craftsmanship. The limited edition Lord Ganesha includes only 1800 units and is part of the brand’s festive collection for Ganesha Chaturthi and Diwali. Only a few collectors, those who buy art for passion with and investment view will own one of these porcelain treasures. Each sculpture is priced at INR 4.50 lakh.
