Grand preparations for Siddaramaiah’s overnight stay in Mangaluru and Udupi
Mangaluru: Karnataka’s Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be visiting the cities on January 7 and 8 respectively. He will have an overnight stay in the cities for the first time ever.
The news has gained a lot of attention this time as it is the CM’s first ever stay in Mangaluru and Udupi. Though Siddaramaiah has visited the cities many times during his term he had never stayed for the night. Some political leaders have allegedly stated that the coastal visit by the CM is a part of a strategy for gaining votes to benefit his party in the upcoming assembly election of the state.
He will stay at the new Circuit house of Mangaluru on Sunday and Inspection Bungalow of Udupi on Monday. The places are spruced up for his stay.
On the CM’s arrival in Mangalore, he will inaugurate the toy train and musical fountain at Kadri park. He will also be taking part in various programmes in Dakshina Kannada.
The next day, CM will leave for Udupi where he will take part in the ‘Sadhana Samavesha’ which will be held in various places in the district. He will also lay foundation stone on various projects undertaken by the government. Later, at 2 pm, he will lay foundation stone for works worth Rs.509 crore in Udupi assembly constituency at Brahmavar. Followed by, laying foundation stone and inaugurating various works worth Rs.445 crore in Kaup constituency at 4 pm.
During the CM’s stay in the cities the local delicacies will be served to him. The menu includes Appemidi pickle, palya made of Coccinia and tender cashew nut, chicken Biryani, salad, Basmati rice, cooked rice from unpolished rice, Neerdose, Chapathi, ghasi made from country chicken, Mutton Koorma, fish ghasi, country chicken Sukka, bendekai Pulimunchi, Pomfret Rawa fry, Kane fish Rawa fry, Saaru. Tove, curd, ice cream, fruits, lemon tea etc.
