Print Udupi : It is our every persons fundamental responsibility to increase the awareness among people about the importance, need and conservation of water, said Smt Latha, District Civil Judge and official of District Legal Academy.
She was speaking her inaugural address after inaugurating World Water Day by pouring water into the plants at Poornaprajna College here which was organized along with District Administration, Udupi CMC, District Law Academy and Udupi Bar Association at Poornaprajna College Mini Hall on Wednesday, 22nd March, 2017.
In her inaugural address she said that it would be caring for our water resource is everybody’s fundamental constitutional responsibility. United Nations, world body taking initiative to observe World Water Day on 22nd March every year with certain purpose and is all about educating our society about the preciousness of water and taking action to tackle the water crisis. We have to give focus on water hygiene, reducing the wastage of water etc. We should not misuse of water which very precious now a days. We would have also responsibility to clean the water and it will be our fundamental right to conserve the water. Indeed, water is very important to all living and there will be need to observe World Water Day.
Sr. B. Jagadish Shetty Principal of Poornaprajna College presided over the programme. Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje President of Udupi CMC., D. Manjunathaiah Municipal Commissioner, Raghavendra CMC Environment official and Dayanand U. B. President of Udupi Bar Association were present on the dais.
The programme began with the invocation. Dr. Sshrikanth Rao, HOD in the Kannada Department of the college welcomed the gatherings. Smt Rohini, Official of Department of Information, Udupi district, official of college management and large students were present.
