The grand celebration of Graduation Day held at Fr. Muller Convention Centre for 294 medicos

Mangaluru : The grand convocation ceremony for 294 graduates of Fr. Muller Medical College and Fr. Muller College of Speech and Hearing held at Fr. Muller’s Convention Centre here on Saturday, 1st April, 2017.

Prior to the convocation ceremony, 294 graduates dressed to thrill the graduation gowns and who were about to receive their certificate and medal were all beaming with smile and pride as they were ready to enter the beautiful recently inaugurated international standard Fr. Muller Convention Centre for the memorable celebrations with their teachers, parents and others.

The graduates proceeded towards the hall in beautiful “Graduation March” by the way of traditional pattern with flowers and balloons all around followed by the dignitaries of the occasion with the tune of Fr. Muller’s College of Nursing brass band.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The programme began with invocation prayer song by MBBS students. Rev Fr. Richard Coelho, In-Charge Director of Fr. Muller Charitable Institutions.

Dr. J. P. Alva, Dean of Fr. Muller Medical College placed the annual report of Fr. Muller Medical College and Prof. Akhilesh, Principal of Fr. Muller College of Speech and Hearing.

Dr. G. K. Prabhu, Director of Manipal Institute of Technology as well as Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University was the chief guest. Most Rev Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza Bishop of Mangalore Diocese and President of Fr. Muller’s Charitable Institutions presided over the programme. Rev Fr. Richard Coelho Director in charge, Rev Fr. Rudolph D’Sa, Administrator of Fr. Muller Medical College, Rev Fr. Vincent Saldanha, Administrator of FMHMCH and HPD, Rev Fr. Ajith Menezes Asst. Administrator of FMMCH, Dr. Sanjeev B Rai Chief of Medical Services and Dr. Uday Kumar K. Medical Superintendent of Fr. Muller Medical College Hospital.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The award of certificates and medals to the proud of 294 graduates of College of Speech and Hearing, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT), Allied Health Science Courses, MBBS and Post Graduates by the chief guest Dr. G. K. Prabhu.  Dean J. P. Alva  and Prof. Akilesh recited the Oath Taking words and the graduating students repeated after them and recapitulated it, committing themselves to their respective noble professions.

In his chief guest address Dr. G. K. Prabhu said that the new graduates are the true ambassadors of great institution Fr. Muller Institution to innovate their service through integrity, campassion and loyalty. He advised five points to the graduates that Teaching, Learning and Evaluation, Lesson and Test, Syllabus and Subject, Passing and Sympathy Versus Empathy. He said that you are the asset of the community through your dedicated services to the needy. You should utilize the talents and knowledge which you gained from the institution. Indeed you should never forget your alma mater and the teachers who produce you the best of best education. Dr. Sahana P spoke a few words of wisdom on behalf of graduates beautifully. Awards to the students in various academic and co-curricular activities were presented by the Bishop and chief guest.

During the occasion, FMCI President’s Gold Medal for the Best outgoing MBBS Graduate for the year 2016 awarded to Dr. Sahana P. by Bishop Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza. Dr. G. K. Prabhu was felicitated by the Bishop for being recently appointed as the Pro-Chancellor of Manipal University. His wide Sumana G. Prabhu also joined during the felicitation.

Bishop Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza in his presiding over address said that the graduates should need to keep continuing the profession through overall knowledge and need to upgrade knowledge frequently. He called the graduates to have sincere, dedicated and commitment service and be a good and responsible citizen of India. The success will be desirable, but each person’s success might be different. Success can be achievable with hard work with dedication, commitment and sincerity.

Rev Fr. Rudolph D’Sa proposed vote of thanks. Prerana Ballary of Third MBBS and Asmin D’Souza Second BPT respectively compered the programme.

The formal function was followed by cultural programme performed by the Students of FMMC and FMCOSH. The programme was concluded by Institution Anthem.
