Malpe Police constable suspended for assaulting factory worker, Pramod Madhwaraj visits injured in Hospital

Print Udupi : A police constable of the Malpe Police station near was suspended for assaulting the factory worker for alleged eve-teasing his wife at Malpe here on Saturday, 8th April, 2017.
The identified name of the police constable is Prakash. According to the Prakash, he was taking his pregnant wife to the doctor on his motorbike on 5th April. While on his way, he went to an ATM to withdraw money while his wife was remained outside the ATM. At that time, a person called Kumar and his friend came and teased her. She immediately went inside the ATM and informed Prkash about it. Then Prakash without saying anything took his wife by bike. But Kumar and his friend followed the couple when once again teased her and tried to pull her hand. Prakash then stopped the bike and assaulted the Kumar.
Prakash confronted the culprits and sought help from Hoysala Police Squad and later culprits were taken to the police station.
Kumar works at the fishmeal factory owned by Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister in charge of district. He went to the hospital and complained to police that he was assaulted by constable Prakash in public. Prakash got suspension order from his superior for the incident.
Prakash wife Jyothi went to the Udupi Police Station and complained about the eve-teasing by Kumar and has filed a complaint against Kumar in Udupi Town Women’s Police Station. She also sought protection from the police as well.
Pramod Madhwaraj visited Kumar in the hospital and inquired about the incident. Later Pramod said that the police constable was suspended for his cruelty in the police station with the Kumar. If any wrong with Kumar, let action to be taken on him. Kumar is working in Pramod’s Fishmeal Factory at Malpe.
