Udupi : The suspension order of Prakash, Police Constable at Malpe Police Station should be revoked within 24 hours, otherwise face severe consequences, said Raghupathy Bhat former MLA.

He was speaking to media persons’ at Press Club in his press meet on Monday, 10^th April, he said the situation of the safety and security of the women in the district has serious concern after Pramod Madwaraj has taken charge of district in-charge Minister. Last week the deputy commissioner and assistant commissioner were attacked and now the wife of police constable attacked. The Bharatiya Janata Party strongly condemns all these acts in the district.

Prakash, a police constable has been suspended with the reason that in public place he had shown uproar and shouting with the accused who questioning of eve teasing to his wife. The Malpe Police Station PSI all of sudden gave against the police constable to the Superintendent of Police and had suspended. Now actually PSI of Malpe police station should be suspended, Bhat alleged.

There is no doubt that it is due to Pramod Madhwaraj district in charge Minister who influenced to suspension order. Without registering FIR, how one can suspended with his duty?. Prakash has been suspended for allegedly assaulting Kumar who works with Pramod Madhwaraj’s Fish Mill factory in Malpe.

Bhat said that prior to the press meet, the team of BJP workers visited Prakash wife at their residence. Prakash said that there is no safe place in Udupi for working in Police department.

Pramod Madhwaraj argues that his person Kumar has good character with good record. How one can believe who with the force of alcohol never take crime of eve teasing ?. PSI of Malpe police station had taken Prakash along with him to report to CPI. But he was taken to Raj Fish Mill where wife of Pramod Minister had allegedly abused Prakash’s wife. The workers and others have asked to fall on Kumar’s feet and should apologize. Pramod Madhwaraj’s wife told to Prakash to admit Kumar to the hospital on his own expense. As per the report in government hospital, Kumar was drunken alcohol. On that there was not registered FIR. But next day suspension order received by Prakash, police constable.

Next day as per the DySP, the wife of Prakash had complained in Women Police station against Kumar. All reason to suspension order was due to PSI, so PSI should be suspended. Pramod Madhwaraj is directly responsible for suspending order of Prakash. The district Superintendent of Police should immediately revoke the suspension order within 24 hours, otherwise severe protest will be held, Raghupathy Bhat said.

In our district there is no security to women. The kingpin of the sand mafia not arrested, instead arrested labourers’ from other states.The worst law and order situation and goodasim actively operating in the district since inception of the Minister in-charge of district.

Dinakar Babu ZP President, Praveen Shetty, Prabhakar Poojary, Yashpal Suvarna and other BJP leaders of district were present during the press meet.

In the evening BJP members of district staged a protest at Clock Tower, near Service Bus stand Udupi against the Pramod Madhwaraj, District in-charge Minister for his role in suspending Police Constable Prakash. Raghupathy Bhat former MLA spoke during the protest and demanded the revoke of suspension order of Prakash, Police constable and offered full support for Prakash in the incident. Raghupathy Bhat blamed Pramod Madhwaraj for latter’s role in suspension order of Prakash and standing support for his worker Kumar without any illegal crime. Pramod has all responsible to growth of sand mafia, attack on women, suspending police constable and so on.

Kota Srinivas Poojary MLC, Udyakumar Shetty BJP leader, Sheela K Shetty and other leaders spoke during the protest. Yashpal Suvarna, Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, Gurme Suresh Shetty, Suresh Nayak, Lalaji Mendon, Akshith Shetty, Githanjali Suvarna, Shreesha Nayak, Shyamala Kundar, Nayana Ganesh and other leaders were present.

After the protest, BJP leaders submitted a memorandum to Superintendent of Police and said that within 24 hours Prakash should reinstate on duty, otherwise severe consequences’ of protest will be observed.
