Udupi : School of Management, Manipal University organizing a one day Executive Development Programme (EDP) on “Working Capital Management : Best practices for Operational excellence” on Saturday, 22nd April, 2017 at School of Management, Manipal University. The inaugural address is at 9.15 am by Dr. Raveendranath Nayak, Director, School of Management, Manipal University.

 

 

Addressing to media persons at Udupi Press Club during the press meet on Thursday, 20th April, 2017, Prof. Chetana Maddodi, the coordinator of the programme said that this EDP has been designed keeping in mind the requirements of the organizations, industries, MSMEs and entrepreneurs. The program delivery would be lecture cum case study discussions of best practices for the benefit of the participants.

 

The resource persons are drawn from a diversified pool of experienced industry professionals, academicians, chartered accounts and bankers. Their diverse backgrounds and vast experiences will provide valuable inputs on working capital management best practices..

 

 

 

 

 

She said the resource persons discuss issues on understanding working capital, components of working capital and its estimation, understanding cash flow and cash flow cycle, diagnosing cash and working capital problems. Forecasting working capital and effective utilization of working capital lender’s perspective followed by Valedictory address of chief guest Mr. Sathish Kamath, Field General Manager, Syndicate Bank, Manipal.

 

Talking with working capital is a critical gauge of business health, Effective working capital management enables a business to improve its cash flow, enjoy a better return on invested capital and reduce its funding costs. Working capital management plays a crucial role in every company/organization and remains a strong focus area, particularly in times of economic uncertainty. The key objective of working capital management is to guarantee that there is sufficient availability of funds to meet day to day activities of the business and to maintain balance between liquidity and profitability position of the company.

 

 

 

This executive programme has been designed keeping in mind the requirements of the organizations, industries, MSMEs and entrepreneurs of coastal districts of Mangalore and Udupi. The objective of the program is to enhance the participants’ knowledge and understanding on working capital management by introducing the best practices and new developments in this area. The participants will gain an insight of cash management and knowledge of how businesses manage their inventory, receivables and payables for more efficient working capital management.

 

Prof Suhan Mendon and Prof Navin Kumar coordinators were present during the press meet.
