Udupi : In modern age era, the changes are necessary along with the change of society as well. There should be unity in the society for the development of individuals and society at large. There are proposals to utilize benefits to Garodis, especially in undivided DK district, said Kagodu Thimmappa, Revenue Minister of Karnataka state.

He was addressing during the felicitation programme for Gurikaras of Garodis at Town Hall, Udupi on Sunday, 23^rd April, 2017, he said that there are chances to get benefit from the government in other Ministries. The benefits could be available to repair of Garodis under certain conditions.

There should be some systems in the society that one can avail the benefit from the government. He said give applications through Tahsildars to the government for the monthly wages to priests in the Garodis. Give also applications for the Garodis development through Tahsildars and we will conduct the meeting in regard to the development of Garodis.

He said that earlier low caste people not allowed to enter the temples and that time there was lot of atrocities and discrimination to lower caste people by upper caste people. So under the leadership of Koti Chennaya in the district started to build Garodis to meet their Gods. Even then the temples were developed and Garodis not developed, he said.

The people should get social justice. We should conduct the meeting of concerned officials and representatives from the Garodis management in order to think about the monthly wages to priests who working in Garodis.

Pramod Madhwaraj said that there should be equality system in Garodis. There should be system that all caste and communities should utilize the services in the Garodis. There should not be partiality among different castes like Billavas, Bunts and other. It would be possible to get all benefit from the government like temples.

Pramod Madhwaraj said that in his Udupi Constituency, provided lot of sanction for the development of community halls. There were several Billava Communities Hall established and yet to establish more.
