Print Udupi : Rev Fr. Victor Fernandes Capuchin takes over as a Parish Priest of Holy Family Church, Brahmavar near here on Saturday, 29th April, 2017.
In the brief ceremony of take over ceremony prior to the Eucharistic celebrations at 4.30 pm, Rev Fr. Victor Fernandes was received by outgoing parish priest Rev Fr. Anthony Vaz in front the church by garlanding incoming parish priest.
Udupi Diocese Bishop’s representative Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of Milagres Cathedral and Dean of Kallianpur Deanery performed the religious rituals. He officiated the handing over ceremony whereby the charge of Holy Family Church, Brahmavar near here was given to newly appointed priest Fr. Victor Fernandes Capuchin. Rev Fr. Peter Cyprian D’Souza Capuchin Provincial representative and also Counselor also officiated the handing over ceremony.
The Holy Bible handed over by Fr. Anthony Vas and Accounts books of the parish handed over by Ravi Prakash Gonsalves Vice President of Parish Pastoral Council and key of the Tabernacle of the church were handed over by Very Fr. Stany B. Lobo to the new parish priest Rev Fr. Victor Fernandes as per the rituals.
Rev Fr. Vivian Fernandes brother of Fr. Victor Fernandes, his parents, other resident priests, nuns, Ravi Prakash Gonsalves Vice President, Josphine Lewis Secretary, parish council members and parishioners were present during the takeover ceremony.
Rev Fr. Victor Fernandes was the Principal of Milagres English Medium Schools, Kallianpur prior to his appointed as parish priest of Holy Family Church, Brahmavar. The newly built church was officially dedicated by Most Rev Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo Bishop of Udupi diocese on 28th December, 2016. The parish have 465 families with 1826 Catholics along with two substations under the church.
