Udupi : The state government and the Udupi City Municipality failed to solve the water shortage problems faced by the people of Udupi city, said Mattar Rathnakar Hegde, President of Udupi District Bharatiya Janata Party Committee.

He was addressing to media persons at BJP office at Kadiyali near here on Tuesday, 09^th May, 2017, he said during the election manifesto of the Congress Party, Pramod Madhwaraj local MLA and Minister of Karnataka said that if he won in the MLA elections he will solve the drinking water crisis in Udupi City with providing water from Varahi Project. He said that since more than 15 days the people of Udupi city facing acute shortage of drinking water. The price which supplying tanker water also too high. Municipal administration as well as the district in-charge minister failed to face water shortage for the city.

Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said that the shortage of water for the city occurred due to poor administration, lack of prevent of leakage of Baje Dam which source for water supply for the city, and failed to remove the sand from the Baje dam.

He said there is no enough water in the district Hospital at Ajjarkad for necessary use. During the election manifesto Pramod Madhwaraj said that the district hospital at Udupi would be upgraded with spending Rs. 500 crore. The promise of establish new sand mining policy for Karavali areas not yet brought and so the problem of sand availability still in jeopardized in the district.

Mattar Rathnakar Hegde said that Udupi district BJP working committee meeting will be held on 13^th May, 2017 Shri Rajarajeshwari Kalamandir, Byndoor which will be inaugurated at B. S. Yuddyurappa State BJP President. During the meeting the forthcoming election and to make party strong will be discussed.  Meanwhile in the evening at 5 pm public meeting to be organized at Byndoor which will be inaugurated by B. S. Yuddiurappa.

On the occasion of centenary celebration of Pandit Deendayal Upadyaya, the achievements of the central government will be given to all assembly constituencies and the party to constitute in booth level with 150 workers including people’s representatives, leaders which already recognized. Regarding this the workshop will be held from 1^st June to 25^th September in stages.

He said that on the occasion of centenary celebration of Pandit Deendayal Upadyaya, various programmes to be held in various categories like sports for Yuva Morcha, Shtree Shankti convention for Mahila Morcha, Plants saplings for Farmers Morcha, medical awareness programmes for minorities, S.C., S.T., and Slum Morcha.
