Udupi : The scheduled caste and scheduled tribe grievances redressal meeting held at Atal Bihari Auditorium, DC office on Wednesday, 24^th May, 2017.

Priyanka Mary Francis Deputy Commissioner of Udupi district chaired the meeting. She told to concerned officials to provide educational subsidy in the ratio of 60:40 among scheduled classes and scheduled tribes in gram panchayat, municipal council and other departments.

Some of the leaders asked the Deputy Commissioner that the subsidy for education was not being received. She said that an action plan was prepared for it and she asked officials to set aside 40% for education for the said community. Ramesh, District Social Welfare Officer mentioned about the educational assistance for nursing students which was being held online.

There was discussion were held in relate to maintenance of Ambedkar Bhavan in Adi Udupi and also in Kundapur.

Priyanka Mary Francis was asked for details of ‘DC Manna Bhoomi’ in the district community leaders. They spoke in regard to the leaking water tank in Kukkundoor which is a schedule caste colony and said that a proposal for a new tank would be submitted later.

The ITDP department official said that suitable action has been taken about inadequacies in the maintenance of Ashrama School, Bannanje, Udupi.

The DC asked the deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies to submit a report on shifting of Nadlal Gas Godown in Padubidri grama panchayat.

The DC asked the PRED department officials to inspect the drainage system near the Backward Classes and Minority Hostel, Kundapur and asked the chief officer of Town Municipal Council to take temporary repair measurers.

The leaders of SC/ST commended officials for repairs to Uchila Crematorium and cancellation of licnse for fish waste powder unit at Hangarkatte, near Brahmavar.

Anand Matpadi and Vijayalaxmi leaders of SC/ST complained that PDP and Vas do not respond to problems in Brahmavar and Barkur. Meanwhile Vasudev Mudugal asked for a connecting road to the village lake and urged compensation for Bidkalkatte sexual hararessment.

Sundara Master, Sham Bhirthi, Udayakumar Tallur, Manjunath and other leaders were present. P. Vishnuvardhan Additional SP also present in the meeting.
