Print Udupi : Puttige Bridge connecting between Udupi and Shivamogga was hands in balance due to floods over the past few years. This year due to drought situation, the Swarna river dried during this summer. Cracks have appeared on the bridge over Swarna River after the stones supporting the foundation. With the effect of kemmannu.com website news report, National Highway 169A official Manjunath Nayak Karkala visited the place and took decision to repair the bridge foundation as well as National Highway cracks immediately.
The foundation lacks adequate support and with heavy vehicles plying on the road regularly lives of travelers has greater risks. So the highway authorities have taken the decision to repair the foundation of the bridge and started the repair work.
Locals Sudhakar Shetty Mattibail, social activist Ganesh Sarlebettu, Hamid Saheb Puttige, Jaya Shetty Bannanje were present during the inauguration of the repair work of the damaged bridge.
