IRCS felicitates Blood donours on World Blood Donours’Day

Print Udupi : Donating blood would be very important than talking, Lot of people donates the blood for better cause that one can save life. There is lot of people who donates blood. There is wrong thinking about donating the blood which will impact on the health of donors, said Latha, Senior Civil Judge member Secretary of District legal Service.
She was addressing after inaugurating World Blood Donation Day at Indian Red Cross Society, District unit at Ajjarkad here on Wednesday, 14th June, 2017. She said blood donation helps to save previous human lives.
She said blood donation can save three lives in one unit. There is need to increase awareness on voluntary blood donors. A healthy person could donate blood once every 56 days and it would not result any problems in health for blood donors. Donating blood is one of the important aspect in one’s life.
Dr. Aravind Nayak Ammunje also spoke during the occasion. Dr. Umesh Prabhu President of Udupi unit of Indian Red Cross Society was presided over the programme.
Donors Mr. Devadas Patkar, Teacher Mudarangadi donated 45 times, T. Narahari Pai, KMC, Manipal, 12 times, Mr. Brandon Lobo, Milagres College, Kallianpur, 4 times, Blencil Lewis of Milagres College, Kallianpur, 4 times; Shailesh Kundar, Madhava Pai Memorial College, Manipal 6 times; Abhishek R. Jathana, Madhava Pai Momorial College, Manipal 4times; Vishwas, Govt. First Grade College, Hiriadka 3times; Shrinath Prabhu, First Grade College, 3times, and Nagesh, Government First Grade College, Hiriadka were felicitated during the occasion.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Vice President of IRCS, Udupi district unit welcomed the gatherings. J. C. Janardhan Secretary proposed vote of thanks. Junior Red Cross President Jayaram Acharya compered the programme. Dr. Ramachandra Kamath Treasurer and students, members of IRCS were present.
