Udupi : Vishwa Bantara Yane Nadavara Jana Jagruthi Balaga would take seriously to name Light House Hill Road into Mulki Sundaram Shetty Road in Mangaluru City and MCC or state government should not give scope for any untoward incident on the matter and warn that the said road should be named after Mulki Sundaram Shetty Road immediately, said Bhaskar Rai, Senior Citizens’ Forum President.

Speaking to media persons on Press meet at Udupi Press Club on Thursday, 6^th July, 2017, he said along with in favour of Mulki Sundaram Shetty fans and other larger associations will stage severe protests after 8^th July, if the MCC not naming after Mulki Sundaram Shetty Road on the existing name Light House Hill Road. The protests will be held upto their demands are met, he said.

It has great insult to Bunts community at large that once the date fixed on 2^nd July to renaming Mulki Sundaram Shetty Road which was cancelled due to some politicians specially Ivan D’Souza and J. R. Lobo’s timely interferences for their political privileges. There people seeding the poison among the various communities which is regretted. The cancelling the said program of renaming after MSS Road which has been severely hurt the sentiments of the Bunts communities in undivided district, he said.

The role of Mulki Sundaram Shetty for the growth of all communities in undivided district has extraordinary and great. His role on humanity values and stand on communal harmony should be remembered. The news in regard to renaming Mulki Sundaram Shetty Road was already published in various Medias since several days. St. Aloysius College Institutions website even now also remains as L.H.H. Road existed. Mulki Sundaram Shetty was the Alumnus of St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru. Earlier the state government decided to rename the said road from Catholic Centre to Jyothi Circle into Mulki Sundaram Shetty Road and sent circular on the matter. But all of sudden the cancellation of said renaming programme would severely got insult to the Bunts community in undivided district which is not tolerable.

Under the district in charge minister, the meeting will be held at Mangaluru on 8^th July. If the result of the meeting not in favor of our demand, the further actions will be taken. Hence, he warned that the MCC or State government should act immediately in renaming Mulki Sundaram Shetty Road, if delayed, Bunts community would take seriously. We warn that government and MCC should not give scope for any untoward incident on the matter, he said.
