Udupi : The developmental works of Pramod Madhwaraj district in-charge Minister’s not digested and tolerable by the BJP, said Janrdhan Bhandarkar Secretary of Congress District Committee and nominated councilor of Udupi CMC.

He was speaking on the protest held at the Clock Tower here on Thursday, 6^th July, 2017 organized by Youth Congress Udupi district unit against the stay order brought by BJP leaders who leading Private Bus operators association for operating 55 JnURM K.S.R.T.C. buses in City as well as in some routes of Udupi district.

He said that Oscar Fernandes during Union Surface Minister had taken a special interest in UPA government to sanction JnURM buses to Udupi. Pramod Madhwaraj hard work and efforts, on request new buses were allotted to the district with the intention to get better services and reduction in bus tickets for the students, senior most citizens, ST/SC and other important people of the district. Due to challenge of the Pramod Madhwaraj to the private lobby, it was possible to operate the government buses. The BJP leaders in the bus operators association succeeded to bring a stay order on the movement of JnURM buses saying that the timings and irregular prices.

There were three chief ministers of BJP not able to provide suitable KSRTC bus terminals in Udupi. But under the leadership of Pramod Madhwaraj three hyi-tec bus terminals in Udupi city will come up very soon. BJP leaders who give big talks on serving the people, but not done anything for the people of Udupi and they succeeded to bring stay order on the movements of JnURM buses. It will be unfortunate from the poor people point of view. We will condemn the BJP leaders act in this matter and if they have any morality, should join the protest, he said.

Amrith Shenoy senior congress leader and senate member of Mangalore University said that Pramod Madhwaraj can live his life very comfortably, but with the intention of serving the poor, Pramod Madhwaraj serving the poor people of Udupi district with utmost interest and care which opposition in the state not able to tolerate. Since he electing MLA in Udupi legislative assemble, he tried his best to serve the poor people in many possible ways for all people without any caste and religion. Under his leadership, he suppressing from private bus operators and introduced KSRTC buses in the district with the intention to serve better for the students and other people.

Raghupathy Bhat former MLA had announced various schemes for the district and laid foundation stones, but he failed to get necessary financial resources from the government for the said projects. But Pramod Madhwaraj’s efforts, the laid foundation stones for the projects completed with necessary finance from the government. Vast developments like Indoor stadium, sports ground and many more which list is long are undertaken. The private bus operators got break for their operational services against the people’s common needs. The popularity of the government buses operation in the city increased. We are not against the court’s judgment, but we are against the initiative of the bus operators. Hence we are gathered here to show our solidarity for the JnURM bus services in the district, he said.
