Udupi : Solidarity Youth Movement members staged protest in front of the Clock Tower here on Friday, 8^th July, 2017 against the mob lynching and discrimination with communal unrest in the country.

Addressing the protestors, G. Rajashekar, thinker, social activist and President of Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike said that I welcome and appreciate the step taken by Pejawar Swamiji in conducting Iftar Koota. In fact, the Swamiji’s role in the Ram Mandir movement and his stand on the creation of a violent Hindu nation are based on the principles of Gowalkar. Everyone has to recall the violence in the Ayodhya issue.

The violence on Muslims, Dalits and other minority communities in the name of cow is tremendously high. He was led the movement of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, the incident in Adi Udupi where two persons were attacked is an example of the religious violence in Adi Udupi in 2005. Pejawar Swamiji organizing the Iftar Koota has led to recogise Muslims as the citizens of the country. He has forgotten his own people here in Udupi who have been massacred in the name of cow protectors. All over the country so many people lost their lives just because in name of cow protectors. The Prime Minister has silent about the way the cow protector’s mob lynching and violence. These people should know about the fact that beef is consumed by Muslims and Hindu families are leading their lives by selling cow skin and their source of income destroyed and snatched their daily bread also and lost their jobs, Since several incidence at UP and other parts of the country shows massive increase of mob lynching in India.

A.K. Kukkilaya leader of SYM while addressing said that in India several states implementing cow slaughtering laws which difficult one. But in the name of cow protection there is lot of lives lost on the middle of the streets. There is no legal system for the protection of the people of the country; rather there are laws to protect the cows. So it is difficult to get justice too human.

Idrees Hoode of Jamaat Islami Hind also spoke during the occasion. Hussain Kodi Bengre, K Paniraj, Rev Fr. William Martis, Sundar Kappettu Dalit leader, Salayuddin of APCR, Prof Cyril Mathias and other among leaders were present.
