Well equipped ICU inaugurated at Udupi District Hospital for senior citizens

Print Udupi : Pramod Madhwaraj District in-charge Minister inaugurated well equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for senior citizens in Udupi District Hospital, Ajjarkad on Saturday, 8th July, 2017.
Prior to the inauguration of ICU, Minister inaugurated the Multipurpose District Mobile ophthalmic unit vehicle at the cost of Rs. 19 lac under the National Program for Control of Blindness.
The well equipped air conditioned ICC with four beds for senior citizens which cost Rs. 10 lac. Speaking after the inauguration, Pramod Madhwaraj said that Rs 10 amounts made avail from the prize amount of National award to Udupi Zilla Panchayat in the year 2015/16. In order to visit of more senior citizens to the District Hospital and for them to get better facilities, sophisticated well equipped ICC established.
He said even though the Udupi district established in the year 1997, the Government Hospital at Ajjarkad not upgraded with district hospital since 19 years. This year the district hospital upgraded with 24 doctors post out of 27 doctors post filled and 28 posts of nurses filled from 16 nurses. Meanwhile paramedical posts and other staff posts also filled up.
Members of the public should think positively that in district hospital, the patients will be treated with utmost care and attention.
Asking the question from media persons regarding the sand crisis, he said all sand crisis will be solved after the lift of off shore fishing due to CRZ rules and regulations.
Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje President of Udupi CMC, Sheela K Shetty Vice president of Zilla panchayat, Nalini Pradeep Rao President of Udupi Taluk Panchayat, Madhusudan Naik District Surgeon, Dr. Rohini District Health Officer, Dr. Nithyanand Nayak and other health officials were present.
