Udupi : Brahmavar Range, Departmental Taluk Level Table Tennis Match for Primary and High School was held at Milagres English Medium Hall near here on Tuesday, 18^th July, 2017.

Speaking with inaugural address, Bhujanga Shetty, Physical Education Co-ordinator of Brahmavar range appreciated the host Milagres English School in their tremendous contribution in co- curricular activities as well as in academic studies also. He said he feel proud that Milagres Institutions especially in sports shining not only taluk level of any kind of games and athletic level but also shining in national level which will be tremendous achievement.

He said in the present scenario, the participation of the students in games field not enough. But Milagres Institutions are doing well and securing the prizes and medals. He wished the students of tennis players to do well and try to go for top level.

Rev Dr. Prakash Anil Castelino Campus Director of Milagres Colleges was presided over the inaugural programme and spoke on the occasion. Dr. Vincent Alva Principal of Milagres College, Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes Principal of Milagres English Medium Schools and Veera D’Silva Headmistress of Milagres Higher Primary School were present on the dais.

The inaugural programme was started with invocation by the students. Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes welcomed the gathering. Veera D’Silva proposed vote of thanks. Vinay Sheth physical teacher of Milagres compered the programme. The matches were open with playing table tennis by Fr. Lancy and Vien Mascarenhas, national level participant player of Milagres. The host of the matches’ physical teachers Vincent Mascarenhas, Steevan Pinto and Vinay Sheth were honored during the occasion.

In the evening valedictory and prize distribution programme held at same venue. Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Correspondent of Milagres Educational Institutions was presided over the programme. Bernard D’Souza National level table tennis player and alumni of Milagres was the chief guest. Bhaskar Shetty, Rev Fr. Lancy Fernandes and Veera D’Silva were present on the dais.

Bhaskar Shetty and Bernard D’Souza spoke during the valedictory occasion. Fr Stany gave his presiding address. Vinay Sheth welcomed and compered the programme and Steeven Pinto Physical teacher of Milagres proposed vote of thanks. The guests on the dais were distributed the prizes for the winners.

There were five schools with 20 teams participated with the theme of one cup, one spirit knock out based. Matches.

Girls under 14 year’s :

First place     : Milagres English Medium School, Kallianpur,

Second place: St. Anthony’s School, Sasthan.

Boys Under 14 year’s :

First place     : Milagres English Medium School, Kallianpur,

Second place: Mount Rosary English Medium School, Santhekatte, Kallianpur.

Girls under 17 year’s :-

First place      : Milagres English Medium School, Kallianpur

Second place : Mount Rosary English Medium School, Santhekatte, Kallianpur

Boys under 17 years’s :-

First place      : Mount Rosary English Medium School, Santhekatte, Kallianpur
