Udupi : The Udupi district Youth Congress demanded a fair and proper investigation into the mysterious death of Kavya (16), an SSLC student who was a state level badminton player, found hanging at her Alva’s school hostel room in Moodubidri near Mangaluru on the evening of 20^th July, 2017.

Speaking to media persons at Udupi Press Club in Press meet on Monday, 31^st July, Vishwash Ameen, President of Udupi District Youth Congress Committee said that parent of the girl from Yekkaru Devagudde near Kateel have made some serious allegations about the behavior of the officials of the institution. The youth congress demanded has urged the government and officials to conduct proper and impartial investigation into this student’s death as the circumstances under which it occurred have given rise to certain doubts. As per the parents, their daughter had spoken on previous night and there were no signs of her being depression or facing any serious problems.

Vishwash Ameen said that it would be the responsibility of the institution management to make fair and proper investigation into the mysterious death of student Kayva.

He also said that district youth Congress will meet the Sports Minister Pramod Madhwaraj and Deputy Commissioner of Udupi District Priyanka Mary Francis demanding a high legel investigation into complicated mysterious sudden death of Kavya.

We are demanding compensation from the State government to the family on a humanitarian ground. Being a sportswoman, she have the responsibility and it would be difficult to treat as suicide. Whatever case may need the justice for their parents as well as common people of the society. We demanding without pressure from the top persons or whoever it may be the investigations should be done accordingly.

Vignesh Kini District General Secretary of Youth Congress said that in this case the state government has already initiated action and department has started an fair investigation. The district in charge minister Ramanath Rai has visited Kavya’s parents in their house and consoled the family and assuring them that the government will support the fair investigation and get the justice. The youth congressmen have intention to clear all doubts by the parents in the case.

The district youth Congress condemning the statement of former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy for his support Dr. Mohan Alva in this case without proper inquiry and investigation on real facts of the incident. He gave statement to gain political mileage; it is not fair that Kumaraswamy has blamed media for giving allegation on them. He should be remembering that the media should fight for justice. When he was the chief minister of Karnataka, same media has given wide publicity to Kumaraswamy. He was since past two days was in two districts, but not able to visit the Kavya’s house neither he condole the parents of Kavya. In this case his support to Alva’s management is condemnable, he said.
