Udupi : The Udupi District Youth Congress and district IT cell staged a protest at Clock Tower on Thursday, 3^rd August, 2017 against the massive Income Tax raids on the D. K. Shiva Kumar, Minister for Power, Government of Karnataka.

Addressing the protesters, Amrith Shenoy, Udupi Legislative Constituency campaigning committee present said that the Income Tax officials raid with the CRPF were politically motivated that the minster was responsible to take care of Congress MLAs from Gujarat who staying the resort. So BJP planned to sudden IT raid on him in his several business places.The raids of IT are aimed at instilling fear among the Gujarat MLAs.  DK Shivakumar is one of the second richest MLA in the country who paying the highest income tax. There is no way to hidden assets with D K. Shivakumar.

Shenoy said that the IT raid on DKS residents and offices are an assault on federalism and democracy. People had faith in the IT & ED departments, but these two agencies have become the play tool of BJP. The Modi government was using IT and ED as political weapons.

Narendra Modi and Amith Shah targeting Congress leaders and held several IT and ED raids. Amith Shah’s assets have grown three times in just four years. Shobha Karandleje’s income and assets also increased drastically. From Raghupathy Bhat to Narendra Modi every BJP leader’s assets have grown tremendously high. But why these departments not raiding these corrupt BJP leaders, he asked.

During the Siddaramiaha’s government in the state has concern for the poor and downtrodden and last schemes are introduced for the development of the poor society in the state. The development of the state cannot digest by the BJP. Just one seat of the Rajya Sabha in Gujarat, Modi and Amith Shah played the cheap politics.
