Udupi : Jaya Karnataka and Auto Unions organized staged protest here on Monday, 14^th August, against the unnatural death of Kavya at Alva’s School Hostel at Moodubidri and demands justice to deceased Kavya.

The protest started with jatha from Jodukatte, near Big Bazar which was flagged off by K. Ramesh Shetty, District President of Jaya Karnataka. The students of the colleges, Auto Rickshaw drivers along with their vehicles, leaders’ and members’ of Jaya Karnataka Organization were participated in the Jatha via court road, Diana circle, K.M. Marg to Clock Tower, near Service Bus Stand here.

Addressing to protestors, K. Ramesh Shetty said that we are not against of any individual of Alva’s Educational Institutions which it has provided education to more than twenty five thousand students. After visiting Kavya’s parents we have severe doubt about the reason of the unnatural death. We demand the defaulters arrest whoever may be either Physical Education teacher or other. We have doubt with the physical education teacher. We demand the drowsiness test which will easy to find out the real culprit.

Sudhakar Barkur Hon. Advisor of Jaya Karnataka said that since several days of Kavya’s unnatural death, the truth not yet found of the reason for the death. We believe due to political pressure the truth not coming into the book. So, we demand to give top officials of the government for the investigation. We going for severe protest if our demands not met, he warned.

Shivanand Mudabettu Secretary of Auto Rickshaw Union, Annappa Kulal also spoke during the protest meet.

After the protest, the protest jatha along with their vehicles went to near the DC office, Manipal and gave a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis at her office at Manipal.

Santhosh Poojary, Jaya Karnataka State Organizing Secretary, Secretary of Udupi Karunakara Poojary, General Secretary Nithyanand Amin, District spokesperson S S Thonse, District Chief Convener Annappa Kulal, Vice President Sharath Shetty Kundapura and other among were present during the handover of memo to deputy Commissioner of Udupi district.
