Udupi : On the pandal issue, BJP councilors disrupts the monthly common meeting of Udupi Muncipal Council meeting here on Thursday, 31^st August,2017.

As soon as the meeting presumes under the CMC president Mennakshi Madhav Bannanje, Yashpal Suvarna BJP councilor raised the issue of pandal removal by the CMC yesterday; opposition councilors alleged that the removal of the pandal was illegal. They have the right to stage protest. How municipal authorities removed the pandal without their knowledge, they asks. Then there was chaos in the meeting hall in front of president’s desk severely.

BJP councilors were demanding apology from the CMC on the pandal issue. The situation in front of chairperson of the CMC was such worst condition that Yashpal Suvarna snatched the mike from President and snatched agenda book of the Municipal Commissioner Manjunathaiah.

There were heated arguments with the Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje and the Manjunathiah specially by Yashpal Suvarna, Mahesh Takoor, Dinakar Shetty Herga and remaining all opposition councilors. President told them to give scope for the answer or talking. All opposition disrupts and chaos held during the question hour time of council meeting.

On the other side, the ruling councilors chanted slogans against the BJP that BJP disrupts the development of the City. Ramesh Kanchan, Yuvaraj and other congress councilors also shouted against the BJP.

After the President, Vice President walks out from the meeting hall, the opposition had heated arguments with Municipal Commissioner Manjunathaiah against the decision to removing the pandal while they were in protest against the sand mining issues. BJP alleged that the constitutional official of the Municipal council allegedly supporting the ruling party and acting as a secretary of district in-charge minister.

After the completely disruption of monthly common meeting, the opposition councilor Yashpal Suvarna warned the municipal commissioner that within 2^nd September Manjunathaiha should apologize regarding the pandal issue, otherwise the BJP will lock the Municipality offices and stage the protest agaist the Municipality.
