Print Sanjeeva Salian (68) of Rekha Dry Cleaners Kemmannu passed away.
Kemmannu, 27 October 2017: It’s an end of an era as far as laundry and dry cleaning services are concerned in Kemmannu as the last remaining laundry owner of Kemmannu, Mr. Sanjeeva Salian passed away this evening after a brief illness.
One of the most popular and loveable shop owner of Kemmannu, Sanjeeva Salian has rendered his service as laundrymen and dry cleaner for the last not less than 50 years of prompt and neat service to Kemmannites. The ever smiling person that he was, loved and admired by one and all of Kemmannu residents. His shop was a favorite hangout for youngsters of 1970’s. You could have found a group of 5-10 youths at his shop any time, when Kemmannu was buzzing with activities in the late 70’s.
Apart from prompt laundry services, Sanjeeva Salian also had his general shop and for a few years had his Cycle for hire business. He has recently shifted his shop to late Mahabala Shetty’s cloth shop.
End of a link of a well-known and most loved person of Kemmannu. It seems like time has its say. It’s time to remember legends of Kemmannu like Mr. Srinivas Bhat, (Angadi Bhat) , Sattar Saheb, Lucky Star Saheb, Mahabla Shetty, Doctor Holla, Hotel Bhat, Govinda Udupa, Marcel Castelino of Bakery, Cloth Merchant Kini, Flour Mill owner, Workers of Bhat Shop Babu, Gopala and others. These people I believe lived their life, did their business and contributed to the fame of Kemmannu.
It’s a nostalgic moment for us as a link in a chain is separated. As a personal friend of mine I rejoice for Sanjeeva Salian for a life well lived. May his soul rest in peace.

Really I lost a good friend. We used to gather at his shop during our college days and even I visited his shop last year when I came to Kemm. But I could not see him last month when I was in Kemm. because his shop was closed that day. Really a sad and unexpected news.
