Udupi : Taluk Vishwakarma Carpenters’ Union organized Vishwakarma  Carpenters’ Convention at Town Hall here on Sunday, 5^th November, 2017.

Earlier the large procession with various tabloue started from Service Bus stand here to Town Hall, Ajjarkad. The Convention was inaugurated by Pramod Madhwaraj Minister for State for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment and also district in-charge Minister.

Speaking on the occasion Sri Sri Kalahasthendra Saraswathi Mahaswami Katpady blessed the occasion and said that the Vishwakarma Community existed since several centuries with their profession of carpenter. They have been given importance to their profession even though they are skilled. But very few of carpenters were shined in the society due to their social identity. They need to educate with IPS, IAS and other top government posts. There would be need to money power and people power for the political career. The Vishwakarma Communities should educate with higher educational courses, so that it would be possible for the uplift and growth of Vishwakarma community.

Gangadher H. M. spoke the keynote address and placed the demands of the community from the government and handed over their demands to the Minister Pramod Madhwaraj.

Speaking on the occasion Pramd Madhwaraj said that there are several problems facing the Vishwakarma community. The leaders should come forward to submit their demands with the chief minister and he will help to fulfill the demands of the community. The communities will get various benefits from the government and they need to get at least some of them. The community should get membership for the benefit of Labour department Fund of Rs 6000 crores. He will try his best to get various benefits and will support for the empowerment of the Carpenters of the state.

During the occasion Vishwakarma community 12 achievers were felicitated.

Vinay Kumar Sorake Kaup MLA and former minister also spoke during the occasion and demand the uplift and empowerment of the Vishwakarma Society. It is one of the historical and oldest generations who helps all communities of the society. Sri Sri Shivsujnanatheertha Mahaswamy of Vishwabrahmana Mahasaushtana Math, Hasan also spoke during the occasion.

Kota Srinivas Poojary also spoke during the occasion and said that for Vishwakarma Community didn’t get the equality in politics. There are systems to make strong community in higher castes. But there are not systems to make strong Vishwakarma Community and there is need to empower the community as well.

Balkur Dr. Gopal Acharya Hon. President of Udupi Taluk vishwakarma Carpenter’s Union was presided over the programme.

Shetty Multiplus Group of Co.s Bangaluru, Sridher Acharya Karamballi President of Udupi Taluk Vishwakarma Carpenters Union, Manohar Shetty of Sairadha groups, Jayker Bailoor and other among were present on the dais.

Union Secretary Jayakar welcomed the gatherings and Akshay Hegde compered the programme.
