Udupi : The controversy over Sri Krishna turning to give a darshan for Kanakadasa should come to an end, said Pejawar Mutt Seer Sri Vishweshatheertha Swami during the Kanaka Sadhavana Jyoti Ratyatra here on Monday, 6^th November, 2017.

Swamiji said that the conflict should end as there is evident proof of the incident that Sri Krishna turning issues. He said that intellectuals, progressive thinkers and normally traditional believers oppose the idea of Kanakadasa receiving darshan of Lord Krishna though the Kanaka Kindi.

The traditional believers agree with the idea of all other aspects like the existence of Vadiraja. But some believers oppose the issue of Kanakana Kindi at Sri Krishna Mutt. It is clear evidence that now in the form of a song sung by Vadiraja at the times of Kanakadas. There is clearly mention of Lord Krisha turning around to offer darshana to Kanakadasa, swamiji said.

The role of the Kanakadasa in the society is great. He gave message of humanity without the difference of caste and creed. He preached higher values of freedom and equality among the people of all caste and creed. He was a great leader to all the people of the society, he said.

Pramod Madhwaraj said that Vadiraja was close associated with Kanakadasa. Kanakadasa is a leader of humanity. He is the asset of the society. He is blessed to be part of Yatra while his father Malpe Madhwaraj gave his support during the miracle of Kanakana kindi.

Pramod Madhwaraj gave some of the instances that how Vadiraja and Kanakadasa had close associated at that time. There was rumor among the people that Kanakadasa who lower caste person associated with higher caste person Vadiraja. But Kanakadasa was the leader of all the castes and creed among the society.

Prof B. Shivarama Shetty was the resource person during the programme. Umashanker Swamiji of Bengaluru, Haihole ZP member Gangubai, Rathayathra Secretary K. R. Prabjavathi, former Udupi cmc President Yuvaraj, Alevoor Grama Panchayat President Srikanth Nayak, Social worker Nithyananda Olakkadu, S. R Jayaram Bengaluru, Revanna Kaginele, Parasusram and other among were present. Udupi district Kanakadasa Social Association President Meti Mudiyappa welcomed the gatherings.

Earlier the Kanaka Sadbhavana Jyoti Rathayatra arrived at Jodukatte from Mangaluru and it brought by procession to the Sri Krishna Math via main streets of Udupi city. The procession concluded the journey after performing pooja at the newly renovated Kanaka Gopura in front of Sri Krishna Temple. There was also special pooja offered at the place of Kanakadasa statue on the occasion.
