District Taximen and Maxi Cab men stages protest over introduction of speed governors

Print Udupi : The Udupi District Taximen’s and Maxi Cab Association was staged a protest at Regional Transport Office, Manipal near here on Tuesday, 7th November, 2017 to condemn compulsory introduction of speed governors for old taxis and Maxi Cabs.
The protest began with procession started from Tiger Circle at Manipal to RTO with large number of Taximen and Maxi Cab members shouted against the introduction of speed governors for the taxis and maxicabs.
Speaking to protesters, Raghupathy Bhat President of Taximen’s and Maxi Cab Association said that we should respect the supreme court judgment, but the state government dependent on only two companies rather more than 14 companies which are producing speed governors with less cost. The price of the said speed governor is more than Rs. 16,000/=. But other companies will sale just Rs. 3,000/=. It shows that it will be suspicion on the state government to purchase only RTO allowed two companies.
He also said that the government should also make it compulsory for private vehicles to introduce speed governors. It is not mandatory only tourist taxis and Maxi cabs.
The protesters not listed to hand over memorandum to the Assistant RTO as RTO was not present and they demanded the RTO’s presence to accept the memorandum. After the arrival of RTO, the association under the leadership of Raghupathy Bhat accepted the memorandum and RTO said it will send to the government of Karnataka.

ನಮ್ಮ ಬೇಡಿಕೆಗಳಾದ ಹಳೇ ವಾಹನಗಳಿಗೂ ಸ್ಪೀಡ್ ಗವರ್ನರ್ ಕಡ್ಡಾಯ ಹಿಂಪಡೆಯುವಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ವೇಗನಿಯಂತ್ರಕ ಪೂರೈಕೆಗೆ ಅನುಮತಿ ನೀಡಿರುವುದನ್ನು ರದ್ದುಪಡಿಸುವುದು, ಕೇರಳ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೇರಿರುವ ಭಾರೀ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ವಾಹನ ಮಾಲೀಕರು ಕೇರಳ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಲು ಕಷ್ಟಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ವಾಣಿಜ್ಯ ಚೆಕ್ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಗಳು ರದ್ದಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಅಕ್ರಮ ಹಣ ಸಂಗಹಿಸಲು ಪ್ರತಿ 50 ಕಿ.ಮಿ. ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀಪ್ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ವಾಹನ ಮಾಲೀಕರು, ಚಾಲಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ಎಸಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ವಿವರವಾಗಿ ಮಾನ್ಯ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ರೇವಣ್ಣ, ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾದ ಬಿ. ದಯಾನಂದ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ನಿಯೋಗ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಯಿತು.
ನಿನ್ನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಂದು ಸತತವಾಗಿ ನಡೆದ ಹಲವು ಸುತ್ತಿನ ಮಾತುಕತೆಯ ನಂತರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೋರಿಕೆಗೆ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿದೆ.
ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಉದ್ಯಮದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿ, ಕಣ್ಣುಮುಚ್ಚಿ ಕುಳಿತಿದ್ಡ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಕಣ್ಣು ತೆರೆಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ಹೋರಾಟ ಫಲ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಈ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಪಂದಿಸಿದ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೂ, ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ, ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕುಗಳ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ, ಸರಕು ವಾಹನ ಸಂಘಟನೆಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು, ಪದಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು, ಸದಸ್ಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಹಾಗೂ ಪರೋಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಪರೋಕ್ಷವಾಗಿ ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳು.
ಕೊನೆಯದಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲ ಹೋರಾಟ, ಪ್ರತಿಭಟನೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೂಗು ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ತಲುಪುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕರಿಸಿದ ಟೀವಿ/ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಮಧ್ಯಮ ಮಿತ್ರರಿಗೂ ಸಂಘಟನೆಯ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಹಾರ್ದಿಕ ಕೃತಜ್ಞತೆಗಳು.
