Udupi : State’s new Sports Integrity will be introduced before end of December, said Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister for Sports, Fisheries and Youth Empowerment and also district in-charge minister.

In his inaugural address of State level Sports meet at S.M.S. grounds on Saturday, 11^th November, 2017, organized by PU Education Department Bengaluru, PU Education Department Udupi district and SMS PU College, Brahamvar.

He said that already five zones of 30 districts of the state conducted the meetings and taken suggestions in order to introduce state level sports integrity. In the new sports integrity there are more scope for the students in sports field. The state government has reserves employment for top achievers in the sports field. In relation to attendance shortage due to the participation in sports meet, the government under discussion to provide grace marks as well as school attendance and government positively helps the sports students.

In order to give support for the sports persons and for new projects in relate to the sports, Rs. 285 crore allotted in the last budget. The state government will adopt 1000 sportsmen to those who have talents in the sports. Already 750 sportsmen already submitted their application and remaining 250 sportsmen filled at the earliest. All necessary training, coaching and other facilities would be given for selected sportsmen. The interested sportsmen can apply through online. Rs 10 crore reserved for adopting the sports persons expenditure. He also said that Rs 8 lac sanction for presently on going  the state level sports meet here in SMS ground, Brahmavar, he said.

He said that around 2500 PU sports students are participated in the tournament from 30 states. Pramod Madhawaraj received oath from the sportsmen during the colourful march fast. Beautiful tableau held during the march fast. Pramod Madhwaraj inaugurated the State level Sports meet with releasing colourful balloons to the sky.

Sheela K Shetty hoisted the sportsmeet flag during the occasion. St. Mother Theresa Brass Band from Honnavar assisted the beauty of inaugural programme of the state level sports meet.

M. G. Vishwanath retd PD of Shivmugga, N. S. Herimat retd PD of Shivmugga and Vasanth Shetty, PD of Viveka Kota were felicitated during the occasion. Sports kits were also distributed by Pramod Madhwaraj during the occasion.
