Udupi : The Society of Pilar Fathers observed 90^th Death Anniversary of Ven. Agnelo’s at Milagres Cathedral, Kallianpur near here on Monday, 20^th November, 2017 with devotion and gaiety.

The thanksgiving Eucharistic concelebrated by Rev Dr. Fr. Prakash Anil Castelino, Campus Director of Milagres College and Parish Priest of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Kolalgiri at Milagres Cathedral at 10.30 am along with Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo Rector of the Cathedral, Rev Fr. Herold Mathias Superior and Director of Pilar Fathers Mini Seminary, Rev Fr. Nelson Furtado Vocational Director of Pilar Fathers, deanery priests and other guests priests.

During in his homily Dr. Fr. Prakash Anil Castalino pointed out the life of Ven Fr. Agnel in Goa and other parts of India, including some part of Karnataka and spread the light of the Lord. There are several Saints in India who served the people with the mission of Jesus Christ and Fr Agnel declared blessed by the Pope and need our prayer to get Sainthood for Ven. Fr. Agnel. One day will come on proclamation of Fr. Agnelo as Saint. He was very simple in his life and gave goodness to the faithful people. Ven Fr. Agnelo proclaimed the life of faith to the people around him and exhorted the faithful to follow in the footsteps of this saintly figure and life of faith with witness of Jesus Christ.

Prior the mass, Rev Fr. Herold Mathias announced the sponsors of the mass and gave gratitude to all concerned.

At the end of the mass Br. D’Souza thankful to all concerned on the observation ceremonies of the day for Ven. Fr. Agnelo.

After the mass the Seminarians of Fr. Agnelo Mini Seminary and the directors put up a short programme in Milagres Tri-centenary Hall. Under the guidance of Superior and vocational director, Seminarians put up a short beautiful programme and displayed their talents through group singing, playing instrumental music and meaningful dance as well.

The Rector of the Cathedral Very Rev Fr. Stany B. Lobo gave his beautiful message on the occasion. He also gave gratitude words for valuable services of Pilar Fathers in Kallianpur to the Cathedral as and when required now and then.

Rev Fr. Francis Cornelio Parish Priest of St. Anne’s Church Thottam blessed on the food. Dr Nery Cornelio Vice President and Smt Felciana Lewis Secretary of Parish Pastoral Council were present. The parents of Seminarians, the devotees of Ven. St Agnelo, parishioners and well wishers were present during the mass as well as in get together. The all programmes including welcome, gratitude words and compeering put up by Seminarians beautifully.  

After the blessed lunch, calendar’s of Ven. Fr. Agnelo was distributed to all the participants. Nine days novenas were held at the Fr. Agnelo Mini Seminary with large number of devotees all the time. Please pray for Ven Fr. Agnelo’s sainthood.
