‘SOPHIYA’SUPER HIT KONKANI MOVIE TO HIT UAE SCREENS ON 19TH JANUARY

With Goan Actor Prince Jacob in a prime role the movie is based on the theme of Amnesia and sees multitalented actress-singer Ester Noronha and Elton Mascarenhas in the lead role. The lead pair who had earlier starred together in another Konkani film ’Noshibacho Khell’ was very well received by the audience and impressed with the chemistry of the pair.

‘Sophiya’ in record is the first ever Coastalwood’s movie Produced by a Female producer, Janet Noronha under the banner Janet Noronha Productions.  The movie had released to packed houses across coastal Karnataka earlier, and witnessed a huge crowd at the Goan premiere too. The movie also got released in Israel, London and received tremendous response both in India and abroad.

’Sophiya’ remains unique out of the many films released this year. The film being a family entertainer is being watched by women and children alike. The story received much praise from all quarters wherever released. A good message is delivered through the film to the audience with a dash of comedy.

With Lyrics by Ancy D’Souza Paladka & Harry Fernandes, Sophiya has soulful music composed by Gunwant Sen and sung by Ester Noronha, Anthony Tauro, Gunwant Sen, Dashiel Concessao & Roop Shaa.  Beautiful dances were ably choreographed by Dilip Mestry.  Picturesque locations were captured by Director of Photography, Shafeeq Shaikh which was crisply edited by Abhishek Maskar.  Action Director Sunil Rodigues has done justice to action scenes.  With the Art Direction of Wilfred Pinto the film has classic designer Suraj Ravi & Assistant Director, Roystan Balkunje  in the team.  The entire movie was capably handled by Production Manager, Satish Brahmavar.
Director Harry Fernandes Barkur who is a known name in Bhojpuri films, has made justice to the movie with his proven past experience and track record. Story & Screen Play including the Dialogues were written by him. ’Sophiya’ displays technical excellence with the expertise of Bollywood technician’s involvement in most of the work of the film. As the film has Bollywood level of standard, the expenditure has been enormous. The post production work of the film was done in Hyderabad Digital Studio where work regarding big budget Telugu and Tamil films has been conducted. The use of sophisticated cameras has resulted in excellent quality of the film which can be seen on screen.  Harry Fernandes is also directing another new Konkani Movie ‘Zanvoy No.1’ which is expected to release next year.
Sophiya’s collection from Israel screening were handed over to a humanity Trust in Udupi adding their contribution to the Society.
