Udupi : Ravi Shetty recently joined Janata Dal Secular (JDS) party likely a candidate from Byndoor legislative assembly constituency in the forthcoming election as high command will decide later, said Yogish Shetty, district president of JDS.

Speaking with media persons during the press meet at JDS district office here on Saturday, 9^th December, he said ‘Manemanege’ (House to house) campaigning already started at Byndoor constituency and larger numbers in favour of JDS this time. Now hereafter house to house campaigning will be held in all other constituencies of the district. Previous election we were not able to cope with two national parties. Presently we are able to build the party in grass root level and become very strong.

The people of Karnataka state fed up with both national parties due to their concentrating with their own self development. These parties never worked for the benefit of the people in the state. People of Karnataka are now recalling the two years administration of former chief minister Kumaraswamy and waiting for the chief ministership of Kumaraswamy. The people of the state will make chief minister to Kumaraswamy only, said Yogish Shetty.

If under the leadership of Kumaraswamy is re-elected to power pension to handicapped and pension for senior citizen’s Rs. 5000 each provided, Rs. 6000 for pregnant women provided, 50% subsidy for farmers, employment for youths provided. People already decided Kumaraswamy as Kingmaker but not kingmaker, he said.

Asking with Yogish Shetty said that the contestants’ names will be declared within the month prior to 9^th January. The convention of JDS will be held on 9^th January, 2018 at Nehru Maidan, Mangaluru and all leading leaders of JDS including national president and former Prime Minister Devegowda will be present.

Asking with Yogish Shetty said that we are supporting a woman candidate in Coastal Karnataka to contest in forthcoming election under JDS ticket. The people are recognized the work of Kumaraswamy and we are sure that Kumaraswamy will be the next chief minister of Karnataka state.

Replying to media persons regarding the Yogish Shetty one of the aspirant of the ticket, he said we cannot announce presently. If party has provides chance for me to contest, will be decided later. All the contestant’s list will be announced during the earlier January, he said.

During the press meet, Ravi Shetty, Abdul Qadir, Vedhavyas Nayak and other among were present.

Prior to the press meet, JDS workers meeting was held which Jayaram Acharya District Committee Secretary, Abdul Qadar Kunjal, Udupi Block Psresident, Taranath Shetty Vice President, Ravi Shetty, District President of Karnataka Karmikara Vedike, Barboza, JDS Christian wing leader,  R. N. Shetty, Vedhavyas Nayak and other block leaders were present.

Jayaram Acharya Secretary placed the brief report for the year of the work undertaken by the JDS party. Yogish Shetty was felicitated by the workers of JDS during the occasion.
