St. Joseph’s Konkanni Community (SJKC) of Abu Dhabi celebrates Christmas

Abu Dhabi : St. Josepph’s Konkanni Community (SJKC) celebrated Christmas in a very grand way on 15th December 2017 at St. Joseph’s cathedral parish hall.The celebrations commenced with holy mass celebrated by the main celebrant Rev. Fr. Rodson Goes O.F. M. Cap, the Assistant Parish priest and Spiritual Director of SJKC. After the mass, MC, Annu Bantwal (Prem) took over and welcomed the gathering and invited Fr. Johnson, the Parish priest accompanied by Fr. Rodson, to switch on the lights of Christmas Tree. As the lights switched on the community members applauded by clapping hands for a good amount of time for the beautiful decorated Christmas tree bedecked with dancing lights.

In his message, the Parish priest, Fr. Johnson said that, "äs I switched on the lights of Christmas tree, it is decorated very beautifully and better than last year and I see the number of people from the community attending the Christmas celebrations are more than last year. He congratulated the committee members who worked for this". Continuing he said, "the whole parish compound is filled with joy by the various communities celebrating the Christmas celebrations and he wished merry Christams to all the community members.

Fr. Rodson Goes, wished the  community merry Christmas and this is possible with the support of the community members, sponsors and the strong Committee whohave taken the leadership to bring the community together with unity, love and peace.

This was followed by carol singing by the choir and much awiated entry of Santa to the delight of children who sorrounded the Santa for a while blocking Santa’s entry to the stage. Santa gave away gifts to all the people and specially the children with soft toys.

The clebration concluded with a joyful note with the distribution of traditional Kuswar to all the community members. Everyone went with a joyful heart specially the children and their parents.
