Udupi : Both the ruling party and opposition party in Udupi CMC meeting was witnessed chaotic atmosphere during the monthly meeting of Udupi CMC held at the Sathyamurthy Auditorium here on Friday, 29^th December, 2017.

The President of the CMC Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje presided over the meeting while Yashpal Suvarna, opposition municipal councilor raising the issue on preparing for the Paryaya festival to be held on January and said that so many times the Chief Minister visited the city but not visited the Sri Krishna Temple which the Siddaramiah’s attitude as anti –Hindu.

The word anti-Hindu remark by Yashpal Suvarna led to chaos during the meeting and the ruling party councilor Janardhan Bhandarkar objected strongly the remarks by the Yashpal Suvarna.

Yashpal Suvarna said that in relation with the Sri Krishna Math Paryaya preparation, the CMC should convene the special meeting on the subject. Rs. 3 crore sanctioned for the previous Paryaya, but only Rs. 1.5 crore released. There are so many works are pending prior to the coming Paryaya. The roads not repaired. Upto now no preparation had done. Even Chief Minister was visited three four times, he never visited the Sri Krishna Temple. He criticized Chief Minister and said he is anti-Hindu.

Janardhan Bhandarkar, a councilor said that criticizing the chief minister will be condemned. Chief Minister brought several programmes for the people. Such statement by the opposition should be condemnable.

Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje said that chief minister provided Rs. 10 crore for the development of the Udupi City Municipality. It is objectionable to say such statement by the opposition. During the BJP rule in the state by Yuddyurappa, in 2010 the sanctioned amount released after four years in 2014 when there was BJP rule in CMC. The repair work and upgrading work of the roads was in progress. All the work would be completed prior to the Paryaya period, she said.

D. Manjunathaih Commissioner of CMC said that several meetings were done on preparation of Paryaya with DC and other departments. The establishing the toilets near the Rajangana and North School taking place now. Closing the potholes under progress, he said.

Prior to the meeting, Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje congratulated the Hermon, a councilor being appointed as President of Standing Committee of CMC.

Yashpal Suvarna said that the accounts of previous year Udupi Utsav not presented in the council. The resolution passed that the excess amount from the previous Udupi Utsav to be distributed to the poor. There was no information on Udupi Utsav to the members. Rs. 30 would be charged in Mangaluru Utsav, but Rs. 50 would be charged in Udupi Utsav for the entrance fee. Lot of people is complaining about the more entrance fees from the public. There is neither hygiene nor cleaning surrounding the Udupi Utsav, he alleged.

Replying to, President Meenakshi said that the permission for Udup Utsav would be given by Deputy Commissioner. The charging the entrée fee by the DC and not informed the CMC. There is no connection between the CMC and the Utsav, she said.

Then, the opposition councilor Dinakar Shetty Herga objected the President and said that without the permission of CMC, it is not fair to organizing the Udupi Utsav. Janardhan Bhandarkar told that resolution should be passed on the matter of Udupi Utsav and the Beach Utsav should be organized by the CMC.

Shyam Prasad Kudva, a councilor said, there has been reports in social media on Auto rickshaw stand near Jamia Masjid, only Muslims will be allowed to park there and demanded not give the chance to park for the auto rickshaws there. Prashant Bhat and Chandrakanth Naik also said that due to conjunction over there, no rickshaw stand will be allowed over there. Replying to Commissioner said that CMC not giving permission to the auto stands. Only RTO would be giving the permission of such auto stands, he clarified.

Regarding the havoc of flex banners increased in the CMC limits and need to solve the problems of increasing the flex banners, said Municipal Commissioner, Manjunathaiah.

Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje said that while getting the permission for the flex banners, only twenty days permission will be given. But people not removing the banner since months. The CMC will remove the banners after the time finished with the support of police, she said.
