Udupi : “I am ascending the second Paryaya on 18^th January by the grace of God. It would be very fortunate to receive power from Sri Veshwesha Theertha Swamiji who completes historical fifth Paryaya on his credit”, said Sri Vidyadeeshatheertha Swamiji of Palimar.

He was addressing after receiving felicitation which was organized by Udupi City Municipal Council and Paryaya Welcome Committee on Wednesday, 3^rd January, 2018, said that Lord Sri Krishna is the only way to solve the problems. Those who prays with a clean heart, Lord Krisha will listen our prayers and gives us protection from all the problems. When we attached with the God, he never fails to protect us. God protects us like monkey protects its kid and cat while changing place for its kid also. God has given power to Sri Veshwesha Theertha Sripada.

Palimar Swamiji gave gratitude to all the people who arranged wonderful procession during the function of Pura Pravesha. He thanked Udupi Municipal Council, Paryaya Welcome Committee members, Pramod Madhwaraj, Vinay Kumar Sorake, D. Veerendra Heggde, Dr. Mohan Alva, G. Shankar and others on the dais. He also thanks other organizers and asked to help during his Paryaya period also.

In his presidential address, Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejawar Math, said that it would be proud to handover Paryaya peeta to Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamijiji of Palimar Math which would be handing over power just like Jambavantha handed over power to Hanumantha. Sri Ram also spent 14 years in the forest and later entered in Ayodya. Now after 14 years service for the people, Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji also ascending the Paryaya in Sri Krishna Math. He said that we gave service to the Sri Krishna Temple by way of providing cement, iron, and stones. But Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji will provide service in gold, diamond and other precious materials to the Sri Krishna temple. It is our destiny to hand over power to Vidyadeesha Swamiji that elder brother handing over power to younger brother.

On behalf of other guests on the dais, Pramod Madhwaraj spoke during the occasion and said that it is great historical occasion that presently Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji is completing fifth Paryaya with great success, Meanwhile Sri Veshwesha Swamiji’s one of the disciple Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji is taking over power from the Pejawar math Swamiji. The government will give whatever the help during the paryaya period of Palimar Swamiji.

D. Veerendra Heggde Udupi is known for great paryaya celebrations every two years. Now, Pejawar Swamiji completes his fifth paryaya and hereafter he will give his services to the people all over the country. He will try to come during the Paryaya on January 18^th. It is the celebration of great festival in Udupi. He will provide whatever help needed to the Sri Krishna Math all the time.

Sri Vishwaprasanha Theertha junior Swamiji of Pejawar Math appreciated the work of Palimar Swamiji and hopes better services especially during Palimar Paryaya also.

Earlier, Haridas Bhat, a Scholar, placed the history of Palimar Math and the Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji. He said Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swamiji of Palimar Math was born on 13^th May, 1956 and his earlier name was Ramesha Tantri. He is the son of Shibaruru Hayagreeva Tantri and Kasturiamma. He ascended Sanyasa in 1979. Sri Vidyamanya Theertha Swamiji was his guru.

He said that Sri Krishikesha Theertha (1250-1330 AD) is the first yati of Palimar Math who ascended into sanyasa by Acharya Madhwa. Hence, the cycle of paryaya system for Krisha pooja begins with this math.

Earlier there was the system of paryaya in two months. But later the system of paryaya changed into every two years. Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha is the 29^th among Palimar Math Swamijis. The lineage which was started by Madhwacharya, has had 29 pontiffs, Sri Vidyadeesha Theertha Swami is the thirtieth pontiff who will headed the Sri Krishna Math.

The present pontiff of the Math Sri Vidyadeesha Teertha was born in 1956 (Manmatha, Vaishaka, Bahula, Navami) and accepted sanyasa from Sri Vibhudesha Teertha of Admar Math in 1979. (Siddarthi, jyestha, Shuddha, Navami) and has been following the footsteps of his Guru.

Earlier Balaji Raghavendra Acharya, Working President of Paryaya Welcome Committee welcomed the gatherings. Various personalities felicitated the Palimar Swamiji. The Postal Department released special post stamp during the occasion by the Palimar Swamiji. Mattu Laxminarayana Rao compered the programme.
