Udupi : Sri Vidyadheesha Thirtha Swamiji of Palimar Math ascended Paryaya Peetha in the early hours of Thursday, 18^th January with the grand procession and Paryaya Darbar.

The procession began at 3.30 am from Jadukatte near Big Bazar through Court Road, K. M. Marg, Triveni Circle, Sanskrit College Road and culminated at Sri Krishna Math in Car Street which was witnessed thousands of devotees from various parts of the state and other states of the country.

After the vibrant Paryaya procession, Sri Vidhyadheesha Thirtha Swamiji proceeded to the Kanakana Kindi and had Dharshan of Lord Krishna over there. Later he moved to the Sri Chandramouleshwara Temple and Ananteshwara Temple and offered the prayers over there two temples.

The outgoing Pejawar Swamiji performed his last prayer ‘Visarjana Pooja’ as Paryaya Swamiji and soon after he received incoming Paryaya Swamiji of Palimar Math, Sri Vidyadeesha Thirtha Swamiji and later he prayed for the success of his two year term in Sri Krishna Math.

Sri Vidyadheesha Thirtha Swamiji of Palimar Math ascended Paryaya Peetha born on 13^th May 1956in Shibaroor near Kateel in Dakshina Kannada. He was completed his education in Kateel, Sri Durgaparameshwari High School, Kateel. He was administered into religious order in 1979 in Admar Math by Vidyamanya Swamiji. He was appointed as a heir of Palimar Math. This is the second Paryaya term for Vidhyadheesha Thirtha Swamiji.

After ascending the Paryaya Peetha, Paryaya Darbar programme was held at the Rajangana. Dr. Veerendra Heggde of Sri Dharmasthala presided over the programme. Pramod Madhwaraj, District in charge Minister and also Minister for Fisheries, Sports and Youth Empowerment, Mohan Alva, Justice Dinesh Kumar PS High Court Judge, Laxman Nimbargi Superintendent of Police and other dignitaries were present on the dais.

Sri Vishwavallabha Thirtha Swamiji of Sode Math, Sri Vishwaprasanna Thirtha Junior Swamji of Pejawar Math, Lakshivara Thirtha Swamiji of Shiroor Math, Sri Vidyasagara Thirtha of Kaniyoor Math were present.
