Udupi : Cleaning labours should get all benefits from the government with proper time and should get their demand at the earliest, said Pramod Madhwaraj, District in-charge Minister.

He was addressing after inaugurating the workshop on awareness on various benefits available from various departments of the government which was organized by District Administration, District Social Development department and local various organizations at Rajathadri, DC Office, Manipal here on Thursday, 25^th January, 2018.

Pramod Madhwaraj said that cleaning workers and labours are very important for the society. These people are one of the discarded labours and also most neglected in the society. They are the one who taking responsibility to clean the cities. All concerned officials and others should provide information and awareness on different projects and benefits made available for them.

The cleaning workers children get free entrance and education in Morarjee Desai Hostel and in school. He told to cleaning workers should active in the society through education, organizations and fighting for justice. The government provides various facilities through various schemes. But, cleaning workers are not able to get the same due to lack of information on various benefits, he said.

Earlier Dr. V R Chandrashekar, National Legal School on lower caste Research Center, Bengaluru spoke the key note address on various benefits available for the cleaning labours in the country.

Dinakar Babu President Zilla Panchayat, Sheela K Shetty Vice President Zilla Panchayat, Meenakshi Madhav Bannanje President of Udupi CMC, Rathna Nagaraj Ganiga President of Saligrama Town Panchayat, Priyanka Mary Francis Deputy Commissioner, Shivanand Kapasi CEO of Zilla Panchayat were present on the dais.

S. N. Ramesh, Social Empowerment Department Deputy Director welcomed the gatherings and Devaraj Convener of Ambedkar Development Authority proposed vote of thanks.
