Print Udupi : Halady Srinivas Shetty, Independent MLA from Kundapur legislative assembly was tendered his resignation on Tuesday, 30th January, 2018 to speaker of the state assembly.
Four times winner in legislative assembly from Kundapur earlier was in BJP and then resigned. After that in was worked as Independent but supported to BJP in the state. He tendered his resignation to K B Kolivada, speaker of the assembly at Ranibennur of Haveri district today evening.
He said after his resignation accepted, he will discuss with his supporters and take decision to joining the BJP Party.
Halady Srinivas Shetty was present when BJP’s Parivarthana Rally at Udupi and Yeddyurapa said during the rally that Halady Srinivas Shetty has the BJP’s candidate in forthcoming election from Kundapur. Hence, later some of the BJP workers objected Halady Srinivas Shetty’s readmission to the party. Even some of the RSS leaders objected to the Halady Srinivas Shetty’s re-entry.
Halady clarified that he will join BJP once his resignation accepted by the speaker. It is learnt that week Union Minister Prakash Javdekar visited Udupi and the minister had met Halady’s resident and discussed the present developments in Kundapur and suggested Halady to resign prior to January end.
As per the reliable sources, there is opposition to the MLA in BJP who are identifying themselves as fundamental supporters of BJP. The anti-Halady faction is also posted on social media depicting that Halady has not done any development in the past 20 years being MLA of Kundapur.
