Udupi : It was the 73^rd and 74^th amendments to the Constitution of India brought by the then Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi responsible for strengthening the Panchayat Raj system in the country. These amendments supports for empowering women and had provided reservation for women in the Panchayat Raj system, said Dinesh Gundu Rao, Working President of Congress Party in Karnataka State.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Panchayat Raj Amendments Golden Celebrations, Panchayat Raj and Cooperatives Convention at Town Hall, Ajjarkad here on Saturday, 17^th February; Dinesh Gundu Rao said that Amith Shah is a great liar and making low standard politics. In 2013 the national growth rate was 8.5% and presently the growth rate decreased to 6.7%.
