Print Udupi : The majority of the public called the police to take action against the people who lend money at high interest rates during the phone-in programme on Friday, 2nd March, 2018.

An attempt has been made to recognize some of the safety aspects of 15 locations between Thekatte junction to Padubidri junctions are Thekkatte Junction, Guru – Narasimha temple, Saligrama – Gudmi junction, Brahmavara Akashavani junction, Mahesha Hospital cross, Santhekatte Junction, Ashirvad Junction, Baliga Fishnet cross, Karvali junction, Ambalpadi junction, Udyavara junction, Katpady junction, Innanje junction, Kaup junction and Padubidri junction.
In relate to transport issue, a caller said that distributing company at Santhekatte Malpe road parking heavy vehicles on the road, a caller from Manipal said that over speed vehicles may cause accidents, Harsh horns, another caller said that there will be difficult to cross the road due to parking vehicles and narrow road at Pragathi Nagar, Vehicles parking between Geethanjali Silks and Petrol bunk, some of the buses charging more ticket charges and not able to handle while standing in the buses, some of the buses stopping some other places rather designated bus stops, a caller asks to arrange traffic policemen at Sangam, Shastri Park, Vaderhobali and Basrur Moorukaveri near Kundapura during peak hours, speed humps at Pranav Hospital.
Callers complained about the Gambling at Kaup, Matka in some areas, stolen cow not recovered at Hebri, Prostitution business at Udupi and other issues.
The SP registered as many as 23 complaints during the phone-in programme. ASP Karkala Rishikesh Sonavane, DySP Udupi Kumaraswamy and other police officials were present during the phone-in progamme in one hour.
