Udupi : Pramod Madhwaraj, Minister for Sports, Youth Empowerment and Fisheries declared state level “Ekalavya, Krida Rathna Awards here on Monday, 5^th March, 2018.

Addressing a press meet at Hotel Kediyoor Mahajan Hall, Pramod Madhwaraj said that the various sports awards will be presented on Wednesday, 7^th March, 2018 at Gurunanak Bhavan at Bangalore at 5pm which Siddaramaiah will present the awards. Pramod Madhwaraj will preside over the programme at Bangaluru.

In other states of the country, NSS will be under sponsorship of Central government which in Karnataka NSS will be held under the sponsorship of state is great. Karnataka placed top in NSS in the country, he said.

Ekalavya Award – 2016 for the following:

1.       Harshith S, of Bengaluru City, (Athletics )

2.       Rajesh Prakash Uppar of Dharvad (Basket Ball)

3.       Purvisha S. Ram of Bengaluru (Badminton)

4.       Renuka Dandin of Balgalgot ( Cycling)

5.       Mayur D Banu of Bengaluru ( Shooting)

6.       Karthik A of Bengaluru (Volley Ball)

7.       Kirthana T K of Bengaluru (Rowing)

8.       Ayyappa M B of Bengaluru (Hockey)

9.       Malavika Vishwanath of Bengaluru ( Swimming)

10.   Sukesh Hegde of Karkala, Udupi district (Kabbadi)

11.   Gururaj of Kundapur, Udupi district (Weightlifting)

12.   Sandeep B Kate of Bagalgot (Kushti)

13.   Ravathi Naik M of Davanagere for handicapped women swimmer.

Ekalavya awardees will be felicitated with Rs. 2 lakhs each with Scroll and silver medal.

Life time achievements awards will be given to two coaches in the state. They are V. R. Beedu in Atheletics’ and M. R. Mohite for Swimming. They will be awarded with Rs. 1.5 lacs of cash with Scroll and silver medal.

Karnataka Krida Rathna 2016 will be presented to nine achievers. They are Syed Patheshavali H Bepari of Dharvad in Atya-Patya, Yashaswini K G of Hassan for Ball Badmintron, Yuvaraj jain of Daksina Kannada for Kambala, Muneer Basha of Shivmugga for Kho-Kho, Sugunasagar H Vadrale Belgaum  for Mallkanbha, Sabiya S of Bengaluru for Throwball, Athmashree H S of Chickmagaluru for wrestling and Danush Babu of Bengaluru for Roller Sketing.

Karnataka Krida Rathna award winners will get cash prize of Rs one lakh with Scroll and memento.
